Happy 2007!!
Just heard from Sam... he and friends stayed up past 4am, so I really wasn't too surprised that it was this late when he called (almost 1pm). They are waiting to be seated to have breakfast, then he'll swing back by cognizance's to get his car and come home, then Cog's boyfriend may be coming down to watch the Rose Bowl on the HD tv.
Fortunately, the place still looks pretty decent, and we still have some drinks left over from the party last weekend, which I should probably put in the fridge... the cooler probably isn't very cool at this point. :p Not much in the way of snacks, but we have some Doritos and Tostitos, and some salsa, as well as some pita chips, pita bread and hummus.
I went to bed around 11 and read for a while... apparently I was much closer to the end of Dragonflight than I expected, as I finished it shortly after my post last night, and dove right into the next volume. That's three books down, in 9 days. I turned out the light around 11:45, but was still awake when I heard some neighbors counting down from five and then a "Happy New Year" at midnight. Fell asleep not long after that, and woke up at 7:30, hopped out of bed nice and energized, and actually got some stuff done around here. :) The kitchen's pretty much cleaned up, a load of laundry washed and put away, I'm dressed and presentable for company, which I wasn't expecting, but it's nice to already be prepared.
I figure Sam will get here around 3, between eating and the drive home. I dug out a cross stitch project from a while back, deciding that I'd try to stitch for fifteen minutes a day this year, and see how much of it I can get done. So I think after this I'm going to get a drink, get comfy, and do some stitching. Tomorrow Sam goes back to work, and groceries get delivered, so we'll be back to our normal life again, it's just going to be time to start putting Christmas decorations away. TTFN!
