Piggybacking on My Last Post (BN Picture Book Wall)
Visiting "the wall" at BN has always been the highlight of my visit. I get to discover some new books, revisit favorites, and, often, snap some pics of fantastic books many of my friends wrote. Although I always intend to send them the pic or post it, it doesn't always happen. (Ah, life happens!)
Anyway, a few months ago, I saw Cindy's wonderfully charming Hot Rod Hamster. While I was thrilled to see it and snapped a picture, I was less than thrilled to see the changes in "the wall" that day. It was the first time I noticed that there were a lot less books on display and more "junk." Even in this one small pic, you can see the Disney PRINTS that were displayed. Also on display were puzzles and pens. Each gobbled up one book display spot.
There were LOTS of prints that day. Oh...Thomas the Tank prints were up there, too. I'd say the division was 70/30 with the 70 being picture books.
Last week: more like 30/70 and most of the books on on display were NOT new releases.
A month from now? Maybe 20/80?
Will it disappear entirely?
