The Flip Side...

I've presented at the New Jersey School Librarian Conference and attended as a librarian a few times. Now I get to go as an author. Thrilling!

I'll be signing books and introducing Katharine the Almost Great to lots of great librarians. It will be fun to see fellow LJers Linda Bozzo, Nany Viau, and David Lubar. (David was at my husband's school presenting two weeks ago and electrified the crowd!)

I also found out my friend- my neighbor who moved this summer- is presenting. She's attending Rutgers to become a media specialist. Her workshop (blurb from NJASL website): Friday,9:15-10:15, Hillsborough, Laura Henry, Rutgers University, CISSL Fellow, Messaging, Meaning, and Marketing: Keys to Effective Web Site Communications, Participants will learn the difference between a web site with content and a site that communicates well; learn how to focus on site objectives, your audience, and their needs; and learn about the unique attributes of web users.

If you're attending the conference, Thursday, Friday or Saturday, please stop by.

I miss being a librarian. I miss the smell of a 1,000 new books in July. I miss helping kids and teachers find the perfect book. I miss my monthly SLJ! (Note to self: Have John borrow it from his school library once a month.)Maybe I should get one of these for days I miss it a little too much...
