Oh its midnight...I'm in the computer lab because there are no free computers in the library. Why do I need to use a school computer?? Because my stupid laptop broke--actually the screen broke. Everything else works I just can't see anything.
Sooo an update. This semester I took on quite a lot more than usual. Decided to run XC in college...came out of retirement after high school. Probably the best decision I've made for myself in a long time for numerous reasons. Amazing people, running faster (got to run at NCAA regional D III meet in California), generally branching out from the confines of the music building--though I spent much time there as well. Did a two piano recital with a dear friend and fellow pianist in October right in the midst of XC. Getting up at 8am and not getting back to my room till 12am was fun for a couple of months. Most recently, I competed in a concerto competition (piece for a soloist with an orchestra) and I won so I get to actually play with the orchestra here in April...plus do a solo recital in February. What about homework? Yeah that has definitely gone on the back burner for the first time. Pretty much nothing I could do about it, although I'm trying to make up for it now during finals. My politics class is kicking my ass, but at least I know I didn't miss my calling to become a politician extraordinaire.
I have some great friends here at school, but many of them are leaving to go abroad next semester. Not sure how I'm going to handle that. Most likely will spend inordinate amounts of time in the music building--socializing with the likes of Chopin and Mozart. Err as you can see, college has basically taught me to make corny jokes about classical music. Sorry. On a happier note, I'm moving into a wonderful house for the Spring! Don't know the girls who live there that well, but they are nice and quiet and there won't be parties--and I'll have my own space.
