Dogs

So Sat. was our first day with nothing to do. Dustin has been wanting a dog, so I set up an appointment to go to Yakima to look at a baby Pug. (he LOVES Pug's) We got up early, had some breakfast and enjoyed our drive over there. The weather was absolutely beautiful! We got there, found the house, and saw the cute little Pugs. I was fully prepared to get him the dog, but we just didn't really "bond" with it I guess. After all the months of thinking that a Pug was the dog for us, I guess it's not. On our way home we were both kind of upset, so we stopped by our favorite place in Bellevue that has puppies.

Now, to preface this, we do watch dog shows. Yes, we are big dorks. I have always loved the Norwich/Norfolk terriers. I have looked them up before, only to find that they are next to impossible to find, and if you do find one they run you about $2000-3000. Yeah. Not having one of those apparently.

Back to the place in Bellevue. We walk in, and immedialy see some cut Pugs. *sigh* We already established we can't have a Pug. Dustin is terribly allergic to them also it seems. So then we see a Boston Terrier, which I just think is so adorable. Same deal though, Dustin is allergic to them. *sigh*
Then I see him....
In all his cute little brown fluffy glory. I run over to the lady to ask her what kind of dog he is, and she says "Oh, he's a Norwich Terrier/Shih Tzu mix". Oh my lord folks, I tell you I nearly died on the spot. Now I'm not an overly religious type of girl but I swear that God put that dog there for us. That is our dog.
Dustin and I promptly fell madly in love with the dog. He was brand new though so we were not able to hold him. Wed. morning...I will be there, to pick him up, and put a hold on him. Oh yes, he will be ours. Well...maybe.

Yes there is of course a glitch. We are getting married in 13 days. The Pug would have been ready when we get home. This little guy will be ready on the 11th. *HUGE sigh*
Asked Mom and DAd if they could watch him while we are on our honeymoon. They said no. Our wonderful friends have offered...but we are just not sure what to do. I will still be there on Wed. to hold him, but we have to think about this.
We have considered waiting to see if we can find another dog, but I know we will NEVER find another Norwich Terrier. So that is our dilemma. I have cried many tears over this dog. I didn't sleep last night.

It will all work out. But we will have a puppy soon. Be it before we leave, or after we come back. It will be small, it will be fluffy, and we will name it Stitch. And all will be well with the world.
