Birthdays are weird. I think I say this every year. I remember when I was little, everyone made such a big deal about it. My parents always had the best parties for me. I was very lucky. Then when you turn 18 something happens I think. Birthdays just become, boring. 21 was fun, we went to Vegas. After that I don't really remember much happening on my birthday.
Given, yesterday was a really nice day. I woke up and it was beautiful and sunny out. Dustin and I got breakfast, watched Lilo and Stitch the cartoon (don't make fun of me!), and then got ready. I wanted to go walk around U. Village so off we went. Pottery Barn has some REALLY neat things, we had to exhibit much self control. Restoration Hardware also had the cutest bedding, but alas we were good and didn't buy anything. We went to the bakery, then walked over and got a Jamba Juice for lunch. We then decided that we should head to Gassworks park. It was nice, but very cold there so we didn't stay too long. I love looking at everyone's dogs though, we both really want one. (boston terrier or Pug...tough decision)
On our way back from Gassworks my friend Matt called. We met him, his Fiance and our friend Jeff at Canyons in Bothell. Dustin and I just had something to drink but it was nice seeing the boys. We talked weddings, life in general, and about our High School days which is always entertaining.
Then we went to Grandma's, visited with her and my cousin for a bit and headed to Mom's for dinner. The whole family was there which was nice. We rarely ever get together. So Mom, Dad, Grandma, Aunt, Uncle and cousins were all there. We had a great dinner, mom made my favorite, Lemon Parmesan Chicken, Rice Pilaf, Ceasar Salad, and for dessert she made homemade Chocolate Silk Pie. (to die for)
So all in all it really was a great day! I just don't feel like it was my birthday. Only a couple of my friends even remembered. I guess this is what happens as you get older. But I really did enjoy myself. I just think it's funny to look at the dynamic.
Anyway, today we are cleaning the house, then running errands. Someone reminded me yesterday that we may want to go get our marriage license.....Oh yeah! That would probably be a good idea seeing as we have less than a month now!
I hope this weather holds out a little longer..it's so incredibly nice to walk around in Jeans and a t-shirt!
