(no subject)
So things are looking up. Dustin got a job, working on a Church on Frat row. Now isn't that ironic. Anyway, it should last at least a month, and he's working overtime today so that's a good thing. He's excited about it.
I went to my interview yesterday, and about 2 hours later I got a call to come in for a second interview on Monday, so I'm excited about that. I may not get the job, but at least they liked me enough to call me back right away, so that's a good sign.
Today is Mikayla's first birthday party. I'm going, my entire family is going, and then we are having dinner at my parents house because my cousin and her husband are up here from California. They leave tonight though, but it's been fun having them here. We all went to see our friend's band Timeless Soul at the Bothell landing last night, and then wen to karaoke. Much fun was had by all. I miss my cousin sometimes, I never really got to know her that well while we were growing up, her mother is insane, but now she and I are closer which is nice.
In other news, I have settled the Bridesmaid issue once and for all. I will have 4, they already know who they are, and the rest can kiss my ass. Not that I don't love all my friends, I really do, but when it came down to it, there were 4 people that are there for me every single day, and I felt that they were the ones that I wanted up there. I do feel bad because there are a few others (Jac, Diane, Julie, etc.) that I wanted to include, but I just had to draw the line at 4 since that's what Dustin had, and any more was just adding more cost onto the already growing budget. So hopefully they will understand and know that they mean a lot to me regardless of who's standing where that day.
Speaking of wedding plans, that's moving along. We have a cake now, which is nice. The couple doing it only does one per weekend since they have "real" jobs during the week. They are SO good though! Not too sugary, which I hate. We are having Vanilla Chiffon cake with raspberry/strawberry mousse type filling. Very good for the spring and for the daytime. It will be nice. We are also having fresh pink tulips all around the base of the cake, sticking up. Sounds weird, but will be very pretty.
Mom and I meet with a couple more flower people this week, then I make that decision. After that it's just the DJ and my Dress. I feel very accomplished.
Ok, I'm outta here. Gotta go see Mikayla. It is me, or is it weird to have beer at a 1 year old's party? hmm...
