The Anti-Painted on Jewelry Campaign

Aug 08, 2013 19:45

A number of years back I would make the occasional sim outfits and upload them to the TS2 Exchange. I uploaded clothes that I would make for my personal sims and every now and then I would enter one of the themed showcases- to my surprise I even won a couple of them. I never did anything too advanced- just simple, pretty recolors and basic alpha edits to get rid of stuff like the crazy shadows that would leave streaks on your sim ladies  legs if they were wearing certain dresses or taking painted on jewelry off if I thought an outfit would look better without it.

That was 2 computers back and with each new machine my graphics have gotten more advanced and now as I'm weeding through my Downloads folder trying to lighten the load I am finding that I still like the outfits I made, but the Maxis jewelry effects need to go! The outfits themselves look pretty clean, but the painted on necklaces are all pixelated and distracting. So, in order to keep myself from making "Bluck! That looks bad!" noises every time I see a sim dressed in one of those early outfits I'm going into Bodyshop and doing alpha edits to remove the jewelry... and since I've got the program open I'm making a few new recolors at the same time.

I've got a list of things I need to remove the jewelry from but to start things off here are 3 sets of outfits...

Celebrations Short Wedding Dress Dotted Recolors, No Jewelry- I made the red and navy dresses many years ago when somebody requested them. To update them I removed the painted on necklace (I had previously gotten rid of the shadows on the legs) and then added the other colors in because I like the look a lot. The dresses are set for everyday and formal. Clearly labeled so you can pick and choose what colors you want to keep.

Celebrations Short Wedding Dresses, No Jewelry- Just alpha edited the lame necklaces and leg shadows away. 4 dresses, 2 patterned, 2 plain, 1 of each in white and off-white/eggshell. I might ask around and find out if anybody could make these default replacements for me since this is one of the nicer wedding type dresses that Townies will occasionally pop up in. ** EDIT** A wonderful simmer named Kittra picked up my GOS Wishing Tree request and Defaulted these dresses for me. All four dress replacements available, packaged in one folder. (8-12-13)

TS2 Store Teen Female Outfit BodyRufDenimSkirt, No Jewelry- I love this Sims Store outfit, but the cute little heart necklace it came with wasn't looking so cute anymore. I went in and alpha edited the necklaces out of the original 3 Maxis versions- tops in Green, Pink and Cream- and made 2 additional recolors- Blue and Purple tops. Since I wasn't sure what file was the tfbodyrufdenimskirt mesh I included the 3 original package files in the zip, but I think you can just drop in any of them and it would work.
