Yes, it is an update to my Legacy! Shocking, I know! One day I may actually get caught up with how far ahead I've played the game! I'd blame my reading obsession for not being able to stay on task, but it really isn't the books' fault I'm easily distracted. Books are always good. They can do no wrong!
So what's up with the O'Keefe clan? If you read the last updates, you'll recall that the younger 2nd gen. twins, Blake and Benedict (along with their significant others) had graduated from Sim State University and come home to Calypso Island, giving me the Main Legacy House and 5 Spare households to play per rotation. The last update was all about Legacy spare, Braden O'Keefe (Adams) and his family- wife, Lucy, and kids, Jasmine & Leo (twins) and Owen- and their practically perfect life. The biggest news out of the Adams household is that, despite how slowly I play and update, the third generation of O'Keefes IS getting older- Owen aged up to child and Jasmine & Leo were the first of the O'Keefe grandkids to have their teen birthdays.
Next household in the Spares list is the Lynch household- home of Bennett O'Keefe, Braden's twin brother, and his family.
When we last checked in with Bennett things were looking pretty good. Bennett's life after college had been fraught with stress- an unhappy romantic life, an unplanned pregnancy, and then the sudden death of his son's mother, Mabel Atkins. But things changed for the better for both Bennett and his son, Sebastian, when Marguerite Lynch became a part of their lives. Marguerite and Bennett were married in a small ceremony at the city hall soon after Sebastian's kid birthday, and Marguerite had just given birth to her and Bennett's daughter Skye when we last visited their lot, giving Sebastian a much wanted sibling.
The first thing Bennett and his little family needed to do as their rotation began this time was move to a larger home. They had been living in Sebastian's mother's small 2 bedroom townhouse, but it really wasn't big enough for a family of 4, plus Bennett wanted to move his family to a new home, free of sad memories. So the first day of their rotation they packed up what items they wanted to keep, put the money from the sale of the rest of the furniture and the townhouse into an account for Sebastian to use when he moved out on his own, and moved into a new 4 bedroom house closer to the Legacy lot.
Bennett was a little worried that Sebastian would be upset about moving away from the home he had lived in his whole life, but that wasn't the case at all.
Sebastian loved that the new house has a nice size backyard to play in,
loved that he got the big bonus bedroom upstairs,
loved that he could slide down the staircase bannister as much as he wanted
and especially loved that he was finally allowed to have a pet now that there is space in his room to keep a one.
"I will name you.... Mister Fuzzy Butt!"
Honestly, I think Bennett was almost as happy as Sebastian about getting the womrat. Ainsley's kids never had any pets growing up and he seemed to really like the little rodent.
"Who is a cute little guy? You are! Yes, you are!"
Sheesh! You people need to unhand the womrat already! I don't want to hear any crying if you get bit, since you all will not leave poor Fuzzy alone!
The family took a break from decorating the new house (and playing with the freaking womrat) to watch Skye's tot twirl.
Happy Birthday, you little ginger cutie!
Skye Lynch is a Taurus (8/6/6/9/4) with her Grandmother Ainsley's leafy green eyes, her father's O'Keefe red hair and Bennett's S1 skin tone. I think Sebastian is great, just how he is, but I'll admit that it will be nice having a very neat child in the house to counter his super messy trait. I am totally looking forward to the day she is big enough to take joy in cleaning up Sebastian's dirty bathroom. With her big brother around she is going to rack up cleaning points like crazy!
Despite his somewhat rocky start as a parent, Bennett has grown into quite a family man.
He is very affectionate with kids and his wife and loves spending time with them.
When Marguerite told him that she would really like another child, he was all for the idea and suggested that they get to work on increasing their famile size right away.
First try they get a lullaby to play. Seriously, this is why Brianne was concerned when she and Cornelius couldn't seem to conceive- the men in her family seem to have no trouble at all!
Keeping busy while waiting for their newest addition isn't too hard.
Skye needed to learn her tot skils.
Sebastian got to work on his ball skills and getting to know his Uncle Bishop.
Marguerite really wanted to have at least one good friend in the family so she invited Lucy over for lunch and tried to impress her sister-in-law with her cooking.
"Oh Lucy, I am so, so sorry... You don't have to eat that!"
"Don't sweat it. I've got a teenage future celebrity chef cooking meals at home. A little extra smokey flavor never hurt anybody."
And even though they probably should have waited until all their kids were old enough to get in with one visit, they decided they wanted to get Sebastian into Private School so they had to have the Headmaster over for dinner. Bennett cooked to increase their chances!
Knowing that Ainsley and Gerard are getting older and wanting them to bond with the children, Bennett and Marguerite have his parents (and that one family friend that just shows up whenever he feels like it) over for dinner.
"Lamar. What are yo.... We're going to be eating soo... Exactly when did you get here?"
"I let myself in so you didn't have to walk all the way to the door in your delicate condition. I'm getting' the feeling you aren't happy to see me, Marguerite. That hurts. I've know Bennett forevvvvver, we've been best buds since high school, and Mrs O here used to feed me meals all the time. It is a sad state of affairs when an old friend can't just show up for dinner and some company! What does a guy have to do to score an invite to spagehetti night now-a-days??? Sheesh! "
"Ummmmm... Bennett? Can I talk to you in the other room?"
"Lamar is okay. He's just a little lonely. He doesn't have anybody to call his own. It'll do him some good to have dinner with us and soak in some family time vibes."
They had finished dinner and walked Lamar out when the newest member of the family decided it was time for his or her debut.
Outside. In the front yard. In the dark. ~face palm~
And it is another little green eyed girl! Welcome to the family, Sadie Lynch!
That was a first for Ainsley and Gerard- they've never actually been over visiting when one of their grandchild was born. They were there for the birth of Bishop's twins, but that's just because they all live in the same house. It's nice that they were around for Sadie's too.
Miss Sadie has her father wrapped around her little finger. He's totally smitten. He auto plays with her, feeds her, cuddles her, tucks her into her crib. Marguerite even went to work the day after giving birth because Bennett was hogging the baby.
"Daddy loves his little Sadie. Yes, he doe..."
Ha! You've got nobody to blame for that except yourself, Bennett. Put that baby down and get cleaned up.
"Gah... How something so gross can come out of such a sweet baby, I do not know!"
Hey Sebastian, you know what today is?
"It's my birthday! And Skye's! And Sadie's!"
Yep, it is the trifecta! A soon to be teen, child and toddler!
Sebastian still hates parties and too many people fussing over him so the only people who came over for the multiple birthdays were his grandparents. Nobody had an actual birthday party want, but I feel bad. Leo and Jasmine had the whole family there to cheer them on for their teen-ing.
You sure you don't want any of the 'Woot, Woot! Sebastian is beoming a teen!!!' hoopla? There is still time to get your cousins over here if you want just them. It doesn't need to be a proper party.
"Nope. I'm good."
Well, fine then! Grow up without even blowing out the candles on your cake!
The Dice of Destiny gave Sebastian Knowledge for his primary aspiration and a secondary of Wealth- his lifetime wants to is to be a Mad Scientist. His likes are a sim who is a good cook and who wears tasteful makeup, but not perfume. He rolled straight as his gender preference.
Next it was Sadie's turn to twirl.
Sadie Lynch is a Cancer (6/4/8/5/5) like her mother. She has blond hair and S2 skin like Marguerite also, but like her half-brother and her sister she also has her Grandma Ainsley's leafy green eyes. That makes me happy- it will be fun to see how many generations get them down the line.
And last, but not least, it was Skye's turn to blow out the candles.
I think it is hilarious that the first thing Skye did after eating a slice of her cake was happily gather up all the dishes that were laying around to wash them.
Sadie was tuckered out by all the excitement and kept trying to make a break for Skye's old napping blanket, but the grandparents weren't ready to give her up yet.
Sebastian to the rescue!
So. Freaking. Cute.
I think Mabel would be impressed with her son. He's a good looking guy and a real sweetheart to boot.
Last day of the rotation!
Sebastian played around on Skye's birthday violin (music is her one true hobby).
while the girls bonded, playing at the activity table before Skye's first day of school
Sadie spent the day learning how to walk.
And then after school Sebastian shocked the heck out of me...
I like the outfit that Sebastian aged up into, but everybody is allowed a new set of clothes at transition so he hiked down to the new clothing store in town. And once he got there we both forgot why he went in the first place.
When Sebastian met Townie Carole... there was major boltage!
Ack! Shy sims flirting is adorable to watch and even more so because he did this all on his own.
Sebastian, thank you! This is what I was hoping would happen to your cousins their first day of teendom!!
Nothing like having something fun and exciting to end the update on. Yay!
Next up- Brianne and Cornelius Hayes
