So... I told myself I had to get this chapter out before Christmas, but I had writers block and then Earthlink, LiveJournal and Photobucket weren't being cooperative for me so I missed my deadline- Boo! I want to wish a Happy Holidays to all my Legacy readers! I hope you all had a great Christmas and that you have a wonderful New Year!
Quick recap- Last time there was a big, scary chapter that covered what was happening with the adult Spares: Braden, Bennett and Brianne. I'm not going to do that again- it was just too many pictures to edit and too much to write up and I think it is safe to say many of you might have thought it was too much to read at one time also. In the future I will give each Spare household their own chapter and they will all have household tags so you can read or skip depending on if you want to follow what is happening with each family
The big scary chapter covered multiple weddings, kids growing up and new babies being born, bringing the O'Keefe 2nd Generation marriages up to 3, with 3 more needed to reach Ainsley's Lifetime Want of "Marry off 6 children", and the number of 3rd Generation grandkids up to 5 (3 for Braden, and 2 for Bennett), with 1 more needed to reach Gerard's Lifetime Want of "Have 6 Grandchildren."
Now it's time to see what our 2nd Generation Heir, Bishop, has been up to...
How's it feel to be home again, Bishop?
"Kind of weird, to tell the truth. It is so quiet. I don't think the house was ever this quiet when I was a kid."
It is a big house for just three people, that's for sure. Well, three people and a cat.
You may remember that Gerard came up with the idea of buying Ainsley a pet to help with her empty nest syndrome after their last two children, Blake and Benedict. left home for college. She wasn't exactly sold on the idea, but agreed to go down to the pet shop and take a look at the animals up for adoption. She went in and looked at the available dogs, but none of them called out to her and said "You have to take me home!"
And then she went to look at the cats and fell in love at first sight. Ainsley walked out of the pet store with pet bowls, a litter pan, a pet bed, a half dozen cat toys, a cat condo, a purring kitty and a husband with a huge smile on his face.
Welcome to the family, Agatha (because you know that the first Legacy pet needed an A name also). I have a feeling you are going to be a very, very spoiled kitty cat. We may have to find you a kitty boyfriend somewhere down the line so that the rest of town might be able to get a cute Agatha kitten of their very own.
Bishop's Lifetime Want is to top the Athletic career and become a Hall of Famer so he looked for a job in Athletics as soon as he got unpacked and right off the bat he got hired as an Assistant Coach. I guess that Drama major wasn't a complete bust after all- Go college graduate hiring bonus!
To celebrate he called his long term girlfriend Sydney up and asked her out on a date. He wasn't ready to deal with the "Get Engaged to Sydney" want that had been locked since it had made its surprising appearance back when they were college freshmen, but he enjoyed spending time with her. She made him happy.
Dinner and then a walk on the beach- nice. There is even live music and he's not half bad.
Hey! Hey, you hussy! You leave him alone, he's on a...
Whoa...What just happened? She totally came on to you. And you turned her down? You would have eaten that up with a spoon when you were younger. Bishop, I'm so proud of you!
You're looking a little stunned- you okay?
"I... I don't want to think about it. I just want to dance with my girl and maybe do a little fooling around."
"You want to come back to my place? There is something I always wanted to do there."
Bishop!
In Brianne's treehouse???
"I'm the Heir- it's MY treehouse now. Go away!"
Ainsley is not amused.
"He's a grown man, honey, and they've been going out for a long time. You can't get upset with them..."
"In the treehouse though!"
I totally did not tell her! It has to be some weird Mom power- she just knew there was sneaky woohoo going on.
Another day, a promotion at work, another date. But this time he has a little something special tucked into his pocket...
"You know I love you, right?"
"I do. I love you too, Bishop."
"Enough to maybe want to marry me? I mean, not right away, but..."
"Bishop, stop! Just stop before you make me want to smack you for ruining it! Yes, I will marry you! Just stop talking and give me my ring! You drive me crazy, did you know that? Why did I have to fall for you, huh?"
"You just couldn't resist my overwhelming good looks and charm? You have a serious weakness for guys with only 1 nice point? Oh, I know! It's because I do that thing with my..."
"Don't you say it! Stop talking and kiss me."
First the treehouse and now your Dad's car?
You do know that as the Legacy Heir you OWN a house, a house with 6 bedrooms in it no less!
"Bishop? Babe, did you hear something? I swear I heard music."
Oh my... What did you just do?
I... I... can not believe it. You... lullaby... two babies...
"Stop laughing! This is not funny."
Oh, Bishop, you are SO wrong. This is totally funny. The look on your face...
"I... We just got engaged! I'm not ready! I need more time!"
Bishop, take a deep breath. You love Sydney. You asked her to marry you and she said yes. You like kids and it was always in the plan that you would have at least two. This just speeds up the time table. Don't fall apart on me!
I almost feel bad for Bishop. He was doing so well, didn't throw up an engagement fear before he popped the question or anything, and now everything is on fast forward. There is going to be a wedding ASAP, wedding fear or not, since pregnancies in Calypso Island are only 18 hours long and those babies are 3rd generation Heir possibilies who WILL be O'Keefes when they are born. No messing around with their last names just because their Dad was having a romancer based panic attack about walking down the aisle.
Sydney was moved into the Legacy house right away, with barely a chance to collect the few items she had stashed at her apartment. I think she was in shock. Suddenly finding out you are pregnant with twins just minutes after getting engaged to a romacer who you know has huge concerns about getting married can do that to a woman.
*For the official record, Sydney is an Aquarius (6-2-8-2-7) with Knowledge aspiration and a Wealth secondary. She has light blue eyes, blond hair, and S2 skin. Her Lifetime Want is to 'Max all 7 skills'. She likes charismatic red heads and doesn't like vampires. She and Bishop have 2 bolts of attraction.
Oh... Poor Sydney. Do you need to go lay down or anything?
"No, but thanks for asking. You know, I didn't believe Bishop when he told me that sometimes there was a voice that talked to his family. I guess I owe him an apology."
You thought he was hearing imaginary voices and you still agreed to marry him? That's love.
Time to throw together a wedding!
"We're having a wedding today, Agatha, and soon there will be babies for you to play with! Doesn't that sound like fun?"
The wedding would have happened a bit earlier in the day, except a certain somebody snuck off to their carpool when I wasn't watching so the ceremony had to wait until he got home from work. But I'll forgive him because he came home with the last promotion he needed to fulfill his Lifetime want (thanks to some strings pulled by his soon to be wife- thank you very much Sydney! ) and the shuffle in his wants and fears panel that happened when he came home knocked his wedding fear out of the queue. Yay!
Oh my... We are cutting it a bit close aren't we?
"I look like I swallowed a beach ball."
Personally, I think you look adorable.
Syd? Hey Sydney... I totally understand that you needed to eat what with there being two babies in there, but there really isn't time to cuddle with the cat right now. We are on kind of a tight time table.
"She is so soft and fluffy though."
Tick tock. Tick tock. Unhand the cat and go get dressed, please.
Wedding clothing on- check. The siblings and their significant others have arrived- check. Bishop's wedding fear has not made a reappearance- check. Let's get this show on the road people! Time to do the "I do's" already!
Do you, Sydney, take Bishop as your husband, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health?
"I do."
Do you, Bishop, take Sydney as you wife, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health?
"I..."
Bissssssshoppppp...
"I do!"
Very good! By the power vested in me, blah blah blah, I now pronounce you man and wife. You can kiss the bride!
Oh Bishop... the red wedding rings. Really??? That is not an unhappy face! I think you are just complaining for the sake of complaining.
Ainsley, Ainsley, Ainsley... Only 2 more weddings to go until your Lifetime Want gets fullfilled. I think it's going to happen!
"You know, I'm not so concerned about that anymore. I just want my kids to be happy. Bishop... The unexpected pregnancy and then rushing to have the wedding has him feeling pressured, but I think it was actually a good thing. A good thing, because he had to act and didn't have time to overthink things. He's always hated that he got selected to be the Heir. He's worried that he's not going to be a good husband because of his aspiration, but I've seen how he looks at her when she's not paying attention- he adores her."
Hey! I was talking to your Mom and missed the kiss. Do it again!
Now smile for the camera. We need a picture for the wall.
Bishop, man, you are so lucky she is such a sweetheart. I would have totally smushed that cake right in your face.
Awwwwww, I see you looking at her, all sweet like. Admit it, you love her and you are happy you married her. I won't tell anybody.
Due to the bride's very pregnant condition the party stayed pretty low key. Cut the cake, take a few pictures, chit chat with the family, a little bit of slow dancing and time to call it a night.
The party ended just in time.
"Uh, Bishop...."
Drum roll, please... the first and second born 3rd Generation Legacy babies are twin boys, Cade and Campbell O'Keefe!!! Two little redheaded boys, pretty much identical except for their eyes. Cade has dark blue eyes like his father and his grandfather and Campbell has his Grandma Ainsley's leafy green eyes.
Cade is the first born and makes the 6th grandchild for Gerard, fulfilling his LifeTime Want. Congrats Grandpa!!!
Is anybody out there surprised that Ainsley snagged a baby right away?
"Hey there, little dude. I'm your Daddy. Happy Birthday!"
"Congratulations, Grandpa."
"Congratulations, Grandma."
Agatha, the babies are here. Do you want to go see them?
Apparently she is content to sit out the passing around of the newest members of the household and just enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts.
Having the twins in the house makes the time fly by.
Ainsley and Gerard are trying to stuff a lifetime's worth of hugs and kisses in while they can and tend to hog the babies when they are awake.
"I love this so much. It takes me back to when Bennett and Braden were little."
Ainsley is determined that her grandbabies will have snapdragons in their room so she spends her time while they boys nap crafting flowers, trying to get her gold flower arranging badge. The twins get her first snapdragon for their nursery and then she makes one for all the rest of her kids, to give to them as gifts.
Bishop and Sydney are glad for the extra help, but find time to sneak their boys away from their eager grandparents so they can bond with them also.
It really doesn't surprise me that Bishop is really good with them. For as grumpy as he is, he is also very attentive to the people he cares about. He plays and cuddles with the boys all on his own. It is really very sweet seeing somebody who normally makes a face at the idea of giving a friendly hug, just casually stop what he's doing to come and scoop a baby up to give it a little snuggle. I might be wrong, but I have the feeling that Bishop O'Keefe might just be a marshmallow when it comes to his kiddos.
Bishop and Sydney really are very cute together. They always have been, but seeing them together all the time really brings home how well they suit each other. They take care of the boys together, study parenting together, randomly stop to flirt with each other,
And he offers to coach her when she wants to increase her Body skills so she can get to her Lifetime want. Big surprise there- it seems that Sydney was in the normal range as far as fitness before and after her time on the bag she jumped into the fit category.
Guess what one of Bishop's turn on's is? Fitness. Their 2 bolt chemistry suddenly jumped up to 3 bolts.
Oh no...
Bishop O'Keefe, you are playing with fire. Hot tubs are not the safest place to woohoo.
"I think the babies are doing something interesting. You probably want to go see what they are up to."
Fine! Don't say I didn't warn you both if you suddenly start hearing music out of the blue again!
Be prepared boys, at the rate they are going I think your Dad and Mom might have some news for everybody soon.
Three bolt couples... sheesh!
Next time up- Blake and Benedict finish college!!! And it shouldn't take me a month and half to get it posted!!!
