So I was playing my Legacy spares in college and pleasure sim Benedict, my founder Ainsley's youngest son, just would not stop rolling a want to play Marco Polo. It is a lame little want and normally I would just tell him to suck it up because it wasn't going to happen, but it got me thinking about how the only pool in the entire Legacy neighborhood is the one at the Legacy house and while I'm sure Ainsley would be thrilled to have her kids and all the sims in town who want to swim drop in, that just isn't going to work. So I built Calypso Island a community pool and gave it the temp. name of Islands Swim Center. Something much cooler will no doubt come to me now that I have the lot packaged, but I couldn't think of anything when I was faced with the blinking cursor. Originally I was just going to keep it for myself, but I liked the way it turned out, even with no CC used, and I figured maybe somebody else could use it for their sims so I packaged it up just in case.
The swim center has 2 pools- a "kiddie" pool with a slide and a larger pool with a diving board for everybody else. There are spots to sit and chat and some lounge chairs for soaking up a little sun. There is a chess board off to one side if anybody feels like playing and snack machines and tables to sit at on the other side if sims get hungry.
Indoors there is a small display of Island themed knick-knacks and jewelry that your sims can purchase and there are dressing rooms/bathrooms complete with showers and changing lockers for both the ladies and the gents.
I play with all expansions and stuff packs (Base game to Mansion and Gardens) so you probably need them all for the lot to work in your game. The lot is decorated with in-game objects, walls and floors only- No CC, but I would still install it with the Sims 2 Clean Installer just in case. I do play with a number of hacks and there are 3 that I'll mention just because they make the lot more decorative and a good place to get some skilling points as well as hang out with your sim buddies and cool off.
For the roof to look exactly the same as pictured you'd want to grab Phaenoh's white trim default replacement. It looks so much better than the Eaxis standard!

http://modthesims.info/d/327787 I use moveobjects on and stack my landscaping and put stuff on quartertiles. That's because I play with Two Jeffs Perfect Plants mod and the mod keeps the gardener from griping at me when I place my plants exactly where I want them instead of where he can reach them.

http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=13.0 To make the most of things like public swimming pools and chess tables and that kind of thing I'd recommend picking up the Skilling Enabled on a Community Lot mod from MATY. I can't imagine playing without it.
