Who knew home improvement was this tiring?
Two days of working on the house. The carpets are astonishingly clean, given their state yesterday morning. The place no longer reeks of stale cigarette smoke. I have a cleaning crew coming Monday, and two kitchen people coming to give me estimates on Tuesday.
I met the neighbor (since I'm on the end, I only have the one). She's the sister of the guy who had the apartment before me. I got some interesting gossip about the previous owners.
The wallpaper in the smallest bathroom is completely gone. The kitchen is also done, except for what's behind the cabinets and appliances. (The secret to stripping wallpaper? Make sure it's wet enough, and clean your scraper often.)
Most of the holes are patched and the dents filled in and the bits and bobs removed from the walls. I had a key discovery about track lighting. Apparently, it's very easy to replace the lights. Supposedly, that's like, the POINT of track lighting. Who knew?
Tomorrow, I need to wash down all the walls, and buy all the paint and painting supplies. I've more or less picked colors for two of three rooms. I have NO idea what color to paint the bathroom. I'd better hurry up, because next weekend, I paint. I'm hoping to get three rooms done. We'll see. One of them is very small.
I'll post some during pictures tomorrow night. I don't know if I can say it looks *better* yet, but it's certainly starting to look *different*.
Now, I must fall down.
