Love my iPad

It has been forever since I updated. It sucks not having access at work since that's about the only time I spend more than a few minutes here and there on the computer. So I am typing this in an email with the intent to post it later on. Oh well. I do like my job. Well, the job is okay, it's neat stuff but A LOT more programming oriented than I was expecting. I really like the people, everyone is nice - it's a great atmosphere to be in and I love how close it is to home.

Shaun is gearing up for the end of school and overall doing well. He had a nasty stomach bug last week that Lydia now has. Field day is Friday, I used to love that as a kid.

The girls are doing well. Just as we expected, they did not have enough info (since both girls refused to participate in certain sections) to actually grade them for the kindergarten test so they will still be pre-k in the fall which works out fine for when they go to public school. We were going to keep them where they are now, but the class filled up before we could sign up - ooops. I think it's working out for the best. Sunnybrook (the old school) still had our deposit so they are letting the girls back there. We're only going to do 1/2 days (since they don't really nap or stay quiet) and then are going to hire a nanny to watch them in the afternoons. The nanny search has begun on Craigslist and Care.com. So far we already have 6, maybe 7 interviews lined up! So many qualified people out there these days. It's good because I remember how lucky we were to find Christy when the girls were babies (still bummed she moved away), but it's also going to be a challenge.

Madelyn is getting a little better about taking her medication (ritalin now) and it seems to be helping a lot - especially with her school issues. We had discovered she was throwing her pills under the table when we weren't looking. We found out that it can be crushed/chewed so it's now going in her breakfast (cereal this morning) and she's much more receptive to it. She also really likes her counselor, Ms. Debbie (Shaun used to see her too) but we can only get her in every other week right now because she is so booked.

We've already had a ocuple of trips to the beach and it's nice how it gets a little easier each year. The girls will fill up their own buckets with water now and don't need to hold my hand while they're near the water. Lydia is a fish, she dives right in and will go to where the water is at her waist, boogie board and all. Madelyn is still quite content hanging near the edge.

We're heading to Richmond this weekend. This was partly an incentive to get Madelyn to take her meds - my mom and I are taking them to see Sesame Street Live. Paul, Shaun, and my Dad are all supposed to go fishing. Travelling is never easy, but at least we'll get to have a date night on Saturday.
