Kevin's been enjoying his job as Mr. One-Hour Photo. (WHEN do you think I'll get tired of teasing him about being Robin Williams in that movie? Not for a long time, I'm afraid.) He even has his portrait up on the wall of the photo booth, looking very official. I stopped in last night with Daniel to see him at work--and to take advantage of his 15% discount, of course--and he told me later that he saw me coming in and told a co-worker "Look! It's my girlfriend!" I know, it sounds silly at our age, right? I'm ashamed to admit I got giggly and blushed when he told me. Hello, I'm 14.
He's been working a lot of nights recently, and at first I thought I'd miss having him around at night. Oddly enough, I don't that much. I probably would if I worked in an office and didn't see him during the day, but I do. Also, it's been nice spending time with Daniel. We've been hanging out together more, and we fix dinner together, clean up the kitchen, and take the dogs for a late-night walk. It's given us more opportunities for good talks, I think. I'm trying not to sound like a gushing mom, but Daniel has turned into quite an interesting person. We like a lot of the same things, such as books and movies, but his tastes are just different enough to create good discussions.
I'm also proud to report that his sense of humor continues to be extremely twisted. Here's an example: The other night, he was showing me a Web site he found. I can't find the link now, but it's a bizarre ranting by some guy who says women should try to stay pregnant as much as possible because every egg that's shed during a period is, uh, "murder." It was so full of misspellings and bad grammar that parts of it were difficult to read (well, the whole thing was hard to read, given the subject matter!), but Daniel and I were in hysterics about what a loon this guy is. Daniel signed his guest book (fake name, of course) and included a suggestion that the author improve his spelling and grammar skills to make him sound a little more credible and sane, although he wasn't sure even that would help. I was overcome with joy that he mentioned grammar and spelling! Uh, priorities, anyone? Well, I say it's proof he's definitely my son. ;-)
