Some updates...

Will be gone Thurs-Sunday. If I'm still in the middle of an RP, then I will make due notifications in Tom's journal tomorrow. I'm afraid his RP with Terry will most likely have to wait until next week.

New Paul Simon album today! Haven't picked it up yet, though. I likely won't even be able to listen until Monday, though three tracks are on NPR.com. A few critics claim that this is Simon's most lyrically poetic album yet, and as I look upon the lyrics of those three I must say I'm inclined to disagree. While I do like some lucidity in lyrics, sometimes just stating things like "who's gonna love you when your looks are gone?" and "you cannot walk with the holy if you're only a halfway decent man" don't have the impact like "I had a dream about us in the bottles and the bones of the night/I felt a pain in my shoulder, babe, like a pencil point/a love bite" and "take two bodies and twirl them into one/their hearts and their bones/they won't come undone". Even the simple wisdom of "more powerful than morphine and soothing as the rain/a frog in South America has the antidote for pain".

Now admittedly, I have not taken the whole album in context yet. I know You're the One was much better when in context. Of course, that's a healing album, a hopeful, yet observational masterpiece, which I think fits my temperament more - from what I've seen of this one it's more preaching, and I can't listen to those albums for too long. But I'll certainly give this one a shot, because it's Paul Simon and even if this album isn't his best, it will be undoubtedly good.

Also, Mike Marts has stated that New Excalibur #13-15 will be Juggernaut-centric and focus on the realm/Gem of Cyttorak. I'm very happy to see Juggy getting another storyline, a bit less that it'll involve the Gem and dimension travel and blah-de-blah.

Two weeks until NEX #7. I'm very excited, very worried.
