walking in Bucharest

This will be a massive picspam of views seen while walking in Bucharest. The weather was dreary, overcast with occasional drizzle. The camera is a phone camera so don't expect anything spectacular, but you will get a good sense of how the city looks like, at least in the old center area.

This is the University. Covered in ugly graffiti and with stray dog cameo.

Wanna risk your life in traffic? Get a bike!

Door graffiti

covered passage

oldest bank in the city

Bookstore where I bought a couple of books and a calendar. Inside it's much nicer and they have a store cat named Mitzi!!!

The heater you see here is for the benefit of smokers. Smokers can't smoke indoors in Romania so the pub owners have tables outside and they put out heaters for them. I got a kiwi lemonade and my sister had a coffee.

very refreshing! in that cold...

funny the put the girls cutouts over the ruined wall.

I had a sandwich and fries at one of the pubs

There is need for a lot of restoration work in this area. But in spite of that, there is a certain charm here...

I always give money to street performers. This guy was playing Shostakovich Waltz No. 2, which I love. He let me take a pic.

I loved these pipes! I noticed them coming out of a passage leading to a restaurant my sister liked and I didn't.

Nicely restored

Outside of the Manuc Inn, a historical establishment that is still in business. Best place to have a beer in warmer weather!

The river Dambovita crosses the city and is home to many impertinent seagulls.
