This animation film is a work of art. It starts funny and graceful, with the monk trying to catch the smart fish, then it turns into a metaphoric ballet where the drowning is just the gateway to flight and harmony. Beautiful, beautiful work by Michael Dudok.



My favorite Dudok film remains Father and Daughter, which touched me deeply, especially since I lost my father too. But I don't think I can watch it again.
