Gigi Becali, a hugely rich football team owner, politician, quirky philanthropist-slash-Romanian real-estate mobster, has been released from prison today. Now he adds "martyr" to his otherwise dubious resume. He has been detained for almost 2 weeks, 3 months after he and his bodyguards managed to capture the thieves who stole his car and roughened them up. Which is something that every car owner who had his car stole dreamed of doing... Especially since the police never does anything. The police didn't even start an investigation about the theft until Becali was arrested... Crazy world... Let's not forget he is a politician too. All these two weeks we watched the approximate 24 expensive layers employed by Becali for himself and his bodyguards trying to get him out of prison and failing. At least till today. Of course now Becali talked about finding Jesus in prison (what was He in for?) and feeling more humble and all. It's all a theater for the masses. Nothing you see is what is really happening. The justice system plays its part, listening carefully to the (hidden) director who wanted a political adversary removed from the race for the presidential elections, the victim plays victim and we all watch glued to the tv sets how even the very rich have problems, forgetting about our real dramas.
