I spent the last week in Boca del Drago at a research station right on the beach, which had a wonderful breeze and view. we were supposedly taking mini'courses in canopy ecology and botany, but all I really did was measure light with a densiometer and climb a tree to a hundred foot high platform on a rope with ascenders and a foot loop. It was really hard and my arms still ache, but it was pretty awesome hanging out in the top of a tree. it also rained alot and stormed one night, which was exciting. Our instructors were really fun, though and you can never really go wrong when working in a tropical rainforest. I also made brownies. everyone loved me for that one. although I of course thought the liter measuring cup was a cup measuring cup and ended up putting 1/4 liter of water in them, but they were still delicious.
tomorrow we´re off to Costa Rica!
