Back from Pittsburgh! GO IRISH!!!!!
Well, let's see.. I'm completely exhausted after this weekend..but it was so worth it.
Friday night, we ran to the mall & to Gordon's Jewelers... we decided to splurge & get our anniversary gifts early! LOL - we're so bad. Jason FINALLY got the movado watch he's been DYING for. (I got mine from him oh, 4 years ago, LOL). His was so much more expensive though - so that's why I justified holding off for so long, LOL! Then he got me this emerald-cut pink sapphire ring with diamonds on each side. I love it!! I will have to take pics of both to show you guys :)
Then we just came home, packed, cleaned the house & got ready for our trip to PA the next morning!
Saturday - we got up and were on the road for Pittsburgh shortly at 6:30. The drive wasn't bad at all actually! We stopped for lunch (1/2 hour) and were at our hotel by noon! So without lunch it would've only taken 5 hours. We got to our hotel (it was SO nice!!) they let us check in early (yeah!) We got a king size bed for us, a sofa bed for Allyssa, and they brought us a crib for Payton. (and they even made sure we had a mini fridge & microwave in the room too!)
After we checked in & unpacked, we all went down to the indoor pool. The girls loved it & Payton cried when we took her out, kept trying to walk over to the edge & jump back in, LOL!! They didn't have a hot tub though, which I thought was really strange, but oh well. I looked at the exercise room - very nice, made a mental note to go there on Sunday (see below for why I didn't need to, LOL!)
Then we went back up the hotel room & decided to try to get the girls to take a nap before the game (which was at 8 pm, their time). Well, Allyssa was the only one who slept, LOL. Payton threw a fit & did not want to nap. So of course, we were cringing just thinking of how bad she would probably be at the game. So anyway, we all got ready then headed to Applebees for dinner. Decked in our ND gear, I'm sure we ticked off some Pitt fans, LOL - but b/c the girls looked so cute, I think everyone was nice to us, LOL!
Then we headed to the game, Payton fell asleep as soon as we left Applebees, yeah! It was only about 20 min to the field, but with parking & stuff it ended up being closer to 30, so atleast she got a short nap in! We had to park WAY, I mean WAY out in one of the tailgate lots, walk down a hill (which would be a bitch to walk back up at 11:30 with two kids in tow, lol). We got to the stadium about an hour before the game. One of Jason's friends from work met us there and had bought the extra ticket I got. The seats were good - as in the view was really good - but they were about FIVE ROWS FROM THE TOP of the field! OMG, it was a pain in the ASS to walk up all the stairs, with two kids!? Luckily Allyssa didn't complain at all, but OMG my calves are STILL burning!! Up & down the stairs?!? Wait till you see the pics, lol. That's why I didn't need to work out on Sunday, I did enough on Saturday, lol! We were in the ND section though, so it was awesome!
Talk about a blow out. ND kicked their ass, we were so happy! The girls did SO well throughout the game too! I only went down to get food once & Payton was pretty much entertained by everyone else & playing with a cup of ice! LOL. Around the end of the 3rd quarter though Payton had finally about had enough, started to get tired of sitting. So Jason walked down with us and I just walked around the stadium with the girls while he went back up & watched another 15 min of the game. At that point, half way through the 4th quarter, he came down & met us and said there was no point in watching the last 15 min, LOL. So, we headed BACK to our car, luckily there were street lights since it was pitch dark & we had two kids with us! Kind've creepy walking in a strange town at night! LOL
Both girls fell asleep as soon as they got in the car! We got to the hotel around midnight or so & CRASHED! Payton slept till after 8 the next morning, yeah! We watched some tv & relaxed, then got ready and headed out to Denny's for breakfast. Service was REALLY slow & the food just "OK".. but it would do. Then we headed back home! Stopped for lunch again and we were home by 4 pm!
Went to the video store to rent a couple movies & games for Allyssa and then relaxed!!
Monday - NOTHING!! We went grociery shopping, took a nap, and basically just recouperated from the weekend!
