Up to now, in my opinion, Harry has has had "book version Harry hair". In the first two movies it was good for a little boy, PoA had the perfect always rumpled look to it and yet, GoF did too.

It's just such an easy detail to keep true to the book.

Now that you mention it being TAPS like, it does seem that Dan is sporting some serious Timothy Hutton from TAPS hair. It's just weird.

Frankly, although the actors do a great job, they just aren't quite right. Dan is too cute, and Emma is too. Rupert, well, Rupert is just about right actually...but they keep giving his (Ron's) lines to Emma....

I always kind of thought that James messed up his hair when he was thinking about something or didn't know how to deal with something etc, etc. And I always rather thought that'd he'd have passed that on to his child o' emo-itude, Harry. And he's never been so emo. WE NEED THE EMO, MESSY HAIR IN THE FIFTH MOVIE.
