The sun’s rays filtering through the windowpane and the low hum of the bus’ engine weren’t helping her keep her eyes open. It was always the same. Sitting on the last row of seats, in the corner, she rested her head against the glass, while her heavy lids slowly closed.
The rays were much welcomed on that particularly chilly autumn morning, warming the fair skin of her face, her high cheekbones and her pouty lips.
The ‘stop and go’ of the bus didn’t prevent her from falling into a light slumber, making her lose any notion of time, which was totally fine for her.
Her soft hands that rested on her lap were somehow cold -until foreign fingers started caressing the sensitive skin smoothly. Drawing simple patterns or just delicately playing with her carefully painted nails. Those fingers were making her heart rest peacefully.
‘Minho,’
A soft whisper coming from those sweet, plump lips was barely heard over the buzz of the engine.
The foreign touch immediately withdrew in an almost guilty way, and her hands were left in the cold air once again.
‘No, don’t stop,’ a slight frown could be perceived in her calm expressions; though her eyelids were still closed. ‘I like it’
Seconds later, the hands timidly made their way back to hers, which were longing for that slightly rough skin to make contact with hers once again.
‘I’m like a cat, you know?’ she said with a grin forming in her lips. ‘I love caresses, cuddling…being taken care of.’ She lay motionless, soaking in the bath of gentle sunlight that surrounded her.
A low agreeing hum came from the tall boy’s lips.
‘But after some time, I need my space, some freedom; I need to get away from everything for a while’ She said in an even softer, somewhat sad voice. Silence seemed to be stretching out between them. His assent was barely heard after some moments.
Finally, her lids opened, letting all the brightness overwhelm her. ‘However, I’ll always come back’. Her eyes searched for his chocolate brown ones, searched for some kind of expression.
He nodded softly looking at their joined hands; he looked at her feline eyes, and intertwined their fingers.
‘I think I can deal with it’ he said in his husky voice; and just with a simple smirk, made her bite her bottom lip and then giggle.
She rested her head on his shoulder, which was much more comfortable and warm than the window pane. He set his eyes on their hands; her thumb was stroking the back of his hand.
Yeah, he could deal with it.
