This was definitely more amazing than finding out Jayne Cobb was the Hero of Jaynetown. And that? Was pretty amazing.
His hand still in CJ's, Simon simply...stood there.

"There's a mathematical explanation for how this works--she has near infinite interior space--but most people don't want to hear it. They're too busy staring." He trailed off.

"Tea would be lovely, Ten." she said, never taking her eyes off Simon's. This was the shock of her life...she had some idea what he was going through.

Suddenly a small child in a world he didn't understand. Tea? Perhaps. Or that whiskey he brought John. That had appeal, too.

Swallowing hard, he led them into the kitchen and began to boil water. "How do you take yours, Simon?"

Finishing the tea, he set down three mugs--Lady Grey, each to perfect specifications--and settled into a chair. "Aye, she is amazing indeed. But that..." he sipped some tea, "isn't the end of it. You see, you probably gather that I'm not John MacDiarmid from Maryhill Road. But there's more to it than that..." A long pause. "I'm not a human being, either."

"You," Simon looked briefly and a bit shyly at CJ, "didn't look alien over dinner." Or during sex afterward.

He stood up and took his shirt off. "There's really only one way I can prove it to you without a CT scan." And he walked around the table, took Simon's free hand before he could react, and placed it over his heart--standard human placement. After he could tell the pulse had registered, he moved Simon's wrist over about four inches. An identical pulse in syncopation with the first.

She looked into Ten's eyes past Simon's shoulder and smiled softly. It'll be ok, relax. she wished she could tell him. Instead she stepped around Simon and placed her hand over the back of his as he felt the heartbeats.
"What do you think, Simon?" she asked gently.

He was full of health questions but figured that would just have to wait. But it was truly remarkable and managed to eclipse anything else he'd heard, seen or done.
