I have to show you guys the new quilt I'm working on. It's applique again, and it's called Woodland Creatures and we're going to be offering it as a block of the month in the shop. It was designed by this very delightful lady in Canada who is just as sweet as she can be.
This is the first block. It's a little blurry, because for some reason I'm having a lot of trouble with shaking in my hands, and the lighting is a little off because of the flash, but you can see it well enough, I think. And I haven't done the embroidery on it yet, which will have the bunny whiskers, butterfly antennae, and the features on the frog, as well as details on the leaves. This will actually be my first foray into embroidery, so it should be an interesting experiment. Still, I'm quite pleased with the block already, and I think the fabrics we decided to use are just wonderful (the woman in our shop who does all the fabric choosing for our block of the month quilts is just a genius). The next block is a squirrel and I should have it next weekend.
So what do you guys think?
