Kobato Anime

Kobato has to be one of the sweetest, most touching anime I've seen in a long, long time.  I've been out of touch (or should I say, never really involved?) with CLAMP's works, but due to my store going out of business I was able to pick up the first three volumes of Kobato dirt cheap.  I just got around to reading them and while the first volume was slow and episodic, the next two were intriguing (and gorgeous) and by the end of the third book I was sad the fourth hadn't come out yet.  I thought I remembered a few of my co-workers talking about the anime awhile back, so I figured I'd check that out.  I'm so happy I did.  The anime was just what I needed.

It had the perfect balance of humor and drama and I have to say they did a superb job with pacing.  The timeline is all over the place in comparison to how/when events (those of which I've read, anyway) occur in the manga, but in all honesty I thought it suited the show much better this way.  Indeed I feel like this was an excellent and carefully chosen adaption.  One of the best things about the show was it's ending.  I typically dread the last few episodes leading up the series finale because they always inevitably ruin the show for me or don't live up to my expectations.  I was curious how Kobato would end and while I did worry at certain intervals, the show ended with me feeling very satisfied.

Kobato gets 100% from me!  I don't care what Ioryogi says <3.
