There's a lot of reasons I don't like living down south at times. Today, I'm going to bitch about one of them: Pet names. I can't turn around without someone calling me 'baby', 'girl', 'boo', 'ladybug', 'hon', 'babygirl', or any number of other things I can't remember right now. Wow. Makes me glad I live here. The most I ever get called is "dear" or "hon" by the occasional old lady. Okay, I'm from Philly- no one up here is nice enough to use pet names anyway. XD

AND I get called "Miss Meg" by people maybe a YEAR younger than me.

Down here, everyone is "Miss"

Weird. It's only used as a derogatory term by older women. At least that's what I've noticed- I've gotten called "miss" when people are angry customers.

And no one uses Mrs. EVERYONE is Ms. Married or no.
