I know you're all waiting for an update on the homophobia issue. Yes, I went to see my boss yesterday. The best word I can find to describe our encounter is 'anticlimatic.' I got myself all worked up for a confrontation, then I walked in there and showed him the pamphlet. He immediately got a sad, disgusted look on his face, took the vile thing, and threw it away. Then he told me that all of his underlings had standing orders to get rid of anything like that they found. He then proceeded to make most of the points I had planned for my argument, i.e. that what these people thought wasn't really the issue, it was inappropriate at work. And that if I ever found out who was doing it, or he did, that they would be disciplined. He also assured me that a few years ago he had had to 'counsel' some people for gossiping about a man over "the same issue."

I came away from that meeting feeling much, much better, let me tell you. My boss, with his ex-military background, never ceases to surprise me.
