I got on my trusty mamachari (Mother's chariot) bicycle this afternoon to take my drycleaning (for ironing). Halfway there - I was pretty loaded up - something got caught in the spokes and I went A over T! Over the handlebars! LOL!Miraculously I survived unscathed! Luckily I had loose pants on - it could have been a lot worse if I hadn't had that freedom of movement, or it could have been a helluva lot more undignified in a skirt.
Can't say the same for the chari ... poor thing - it's got a squeaky wheel, a broken spoke and something is rubbing 'cus it slows down in a part of one wheel revolution. I also ripped my iPod earphones apart! Oh well, one of the ears had gone silent anyway - it was time for them to go.
A nice young man came running up, saying, "Are you OK? Are you injured?" and picked up my clean washed laundry that had hit the bitumen. I told him, "I'm fine, amazingly!" His reply, "Jesus must love you!" Huh, guess he was a Korean Christian - a lot of Koreans live round here. No Japanese would be able to speak so well and come out with that statement so naturally.
