Isola - Round 6 (Part II)

Jun 05, 2013 15:49

Sorry that this took a while to come out, I had exams and then I was in a daze of post-exam laziness. I'm in the mood to blabber about my simmies though, so I hope you enjoy whatever tumbles out onto my keyboard next!

Isola is reaching the point where Baakir is struggling to govern everything alone, so Birisi jumps at the chance to help advise his Chief. Baakir can't afford to pay him much for his time, but Birisi is just glad to be doing something productive. I guess government jobs just don't pay enough wherever you go, huh?

This leaves Mifune home to care for the children. They spend most of their time out fishing, but when the weather is too hot they'll cool off inside where she teaches them to read and write. Since the outlanders appear to be divided right now, Isola's schoolhouse is out of session until they can find someone unobjectionable to teach the children.

Malie and Kei continue to be adorable (Malie especially... look at those eyes!)

Humud trains hard for his work as Isola's vigilante justice. He's receptive to Burton's ideas of a legal system on Isola, but thinks they might have to build up the island's infrastructure before they can achieve something like that.

Then suddenly, the focus of this household dramatically shifted. One afternoon while Birisi was out at work and Humud had a day off, I noticed these two sneaking off to Mifune and Birisi's bedroom.
(Sorry about the inappropriate underwear, but these pictures are kinda important).
I thought 'Oh, Humud has a couple of bolts with her but when he tries something she'll reject it' and so it didn't bother me that much.

Except Mifune initiated it, and since Humud is single, he accepted without question. Why do sims have such little self-preservation that they're completely happy to sleep with their best friend's wives?

I guess Humud was just feeling so lonely that he didn't care about the consequences.

Nothing like having your heat-of-the-moment affair interrupted by one of the affair-ee's children. Kei, what could possibly be so important that you had to walk in on them like this!?

Ah. Of course. These reading sessions are like crack to Isola's kids.

Humud: OMG LEAVE US TO CHEAT ON BIRISI IN PEACE YOU TWO.

The worst thing about this situation is that Humud is now in love with Mifune, and yet she doesn't even have a crush on him. Mifune seems to be very happy with Birisi.

Annoyingly happy.

Painfully happy.

And yet, one morning before work he wakes to find Mifune scantily-clad, lying next to him. Humud knows that Birisi goes to work an hour or two earlier than him, so it's not hard to guess why she might be there...

Humud was sure that it would be a one-time thing, but Mifune seemed to have other plans. Humud was much more apprehensive the second time...

But Mifune eventually persuaded him to see it from her side.

So, we leave the Folon/Pongwa household for now with Humud being entirely inappropriate while Mifune demonstrates why her hair mesh isn't the greatest for a sim who frequently gets sunburn.

Next, we have the Valance family! *squee*

Valance

Of course they're my favourites.

While the initial move was unexpected and rapid, the family managed to cobble together a little place that they could finally call their own (Linea did all the work). I posted a full tour of the house over on my tumblr, you can see it here.

Tin shacks don't come as cheap as you think they might. Luckily a treasure chest or two gets dug up, so the house is finished quickly.

Humud, I appreciate that you might have frustrations that need taking out, but what did the Valance trashcan ever do to you? ;_;

I don't really have any captions for these kinds of shots. I just really like them together!

Day-to-day life in the Valance house almost exclusively takes place in the main room. Candy stitches, Linea tinkers, Davina dreams up ideas for placards and Simon... works. He's like a machine, glued to that typewriter. Currently he runs two businesses in Isola - his mother's 'boutique' and Daniela's Fruit and Veg. Of course Daniela is still the manager of the stall - Simon would never betray her trust like that.

However this can be a little on the awkward side. Orson may be on the reclusive side since his little 'incident', but that doesn't mean he doesn't need food. He tries to stock up on as much as he can when he does visit the market, to make his trips as infrequent as possible.

Despite their relationship now having lasted for about 17 years, Linea and Candy are as affectionate as ever. In all reality, when you consider all the other relationships on the island they probably have the most stable!

Remember that rusted old car that washed up and Henry was trying to fix? Well, turns out the job was a little too complicated for him and just like everything else on this island, the job gets delegated to Linea. She really is just Wonder Woman with a wrench.

Davina has been concentrating on developing a sustainable method of fishing - after all, the fish can't last forever, can they?
It hasn't been going too well so far.

It's time for the Valance round to finish, which leaves us with just one more household this rotation - the Lerner family.

Lerner

Daniela always wanted to retire in a little cottage in the countryside. A wooden hut on a tropical island is close enough, right?

Since moving in, Danny's managed to attract the attention of one of Isola's friendlier (and dopier) hyenas, who he has dubbed 'Narg'.

Narg is a doofus, a coward (then again, I'd be afraid of Burton), friendly and messy. He's really just a daffy but loveable dog.

What is it about Isola's trash cans that just attract feet? Are Isolans born with magnets in their toes?

Danny becomes a man very soon, so he invites his girlfriend Davina round to help him celebrate his coming of age. Looks like Danny has some plans of what to do once he becomes an adult.

But I guess he wants one final rite of passage before growing up. Doesn't he look pleased with himself?

Oh Daniela, be so glad you didn't walk in fifteen minutes earlier...

Davina also meets Narg, and as a big animal lover instantly takes a liking to him.

Finally, it's time for Danny to become an adult!

His nose may be a little awkward-looking, but whose isn't, really. I'm sure they'll make lovely babies!

Narg decides he can't take all this excitement and goes to settle down on his pet bed in Danny's room (which will probably become Daniela's when Davina moves in).

Davina sticks around for a while longer, and once Daniela heads to bed ACR decides that these two had so much fun earlier they just want to double-check that it wasn't a fluke.

Danny sees Davina off (he'd walk her home, but she lives ten feet away...) and climbs into bed. Not a bad first evening as an adult!

... You guys know the drill. Wild animals. *yawn*

And what does our ferocious hyena do about the intruder in his master's house?

He decides that it's a good time to finish off the kibble in his bowl.

On the plus side, Isola has now had enough burglaries to unlock a position in the Journalism track! *buys burglar alarms for EVERY HOUSE*

Daniela's becoming pretty bitter in her old age. Maybe she resents that her children's love lives seem to be going so well?

Though she appreciates Danny's help around the house.

This post can only mean one thing - Danny got himself a job! I said earlier that Isola needed a new educator since Orson stepped down, and Danny being young and energetic is perfect for the job!

We end this round with Narg being... Narg.

Well, that's it for Isola's sixth round! Stay tuned for a little intermission on something that happens in-between round six and round seven!

Thank you for reading!
