I'm going to admit upfront a terrible, shocking secret: I'm really bad at playing sims I made myself.
[SCORES OF READERS ARE SHOCKED EVERYWHERE]
... Okay, so maybe that wasn't too terrible. But every time I've tried this challenge (cough cough sims ADHD cough) I end up getting bored of people I made and giving up. So what if I try a BaCC where I didn't quite make the characters?
I took one sim from every neighbourhood and banded them all together, with my attempt at a coherent story to link them together. Hope you enjoy!
Our founder, and entry from Pleasantview...
Cassandra is the quiet, mysterious type. Nobody ever knows quite what she's thinking.
Left at the altar by Mr. Wrong, Cassandra wanted nothing more than to escape the life she had been living for too long. With the family's enormous resources, her father gave her a generous sum of money to escape to the remote countryside... the very remote countryside. This was, however, on the precaution that she find some sims willing to follow her (after all, he wouldn't let his little princess go so far alone). Cassandra's ready to lead her ragtag nomads to unoccupied lands, and settle down to begin her legacy - something her famed ancestors could be proud of.
Number two, coming up from Strangetown, iiiiiiisss.....
No matter what happens, Pascal believes there is a logical explanation for everything. In his free time, he practices home psychoanalysis and collects conspiracy theories.
Simply being in the same town as the Beakers and the Grunts was insufferable enough, but once Pascal fell pregnant by way of alien abduction he began to worry for the quality of life he could provide for his child. With little other choice, Pascal decided to enlist on Cassandra's expedition. He hopes that with early exposure to alien life, the town will become a haven for the extra-terrestrial.
Thirdly, we meet Veronaville's offering...
Finally out of the Monty compound, Bianca is looking for love so she can start a family of her own.
After the death of her best friend Kent, Bianca decided she was sick of her family's dispute. Wishing to escape from the feud, she jumped ship on the first opportunity she came across - the chance to help found a new settlement. She dreams of a utopia, free from the fighting of her hometown.
From Bluewater Village...
Born with a green thumb, and graced with old world charm, Florence has a way of winning friends. A recent arrival, rumours about her past abound. What intrigue lies behind her shy smile?
The pH balance of the village wasn't good enough for Florence's plants, and so she decided to pack up and find a place where the land is perfect before she laid down roots in Bluewater. She knows that after cultivating the wild yet rich soil, Wildflower Reef will be a sanctuary for plants everywhere.
From Riverblossom Hills...
Leod comes from a long line of farmers. He left his homeland to start his own farm but will he be able to run it without the help of friends or family?
The short answer is, no. After a hard winter, Leod had to sell his farm and move on to pastures new. Not that it hurt him too badly - the pervy old ladies of Riverblossom were starting to creep him out.
Next up is from Desiderata Valley...
Sharon has decided to move in with her sister's family until she becomes a bit more financially stable. She has found herself very interested in Mr. Mole, but had a difficult time getting to know him.
Mooching off a sibling can raise tensions, but their conflict came to a head when her sister finally had enough and threw her out. With nowhere else to go, Sharon figures she can at least get a roof over her head with Cassandra and the crew.
From Belladonna Cove...
Connor Weir enjoys his roommate Geoff but wants to find that special someone and start a family. He's never had Geoff's advantages so he's worked as hard as he can to get where he is in his career.
Of course, Connor didn't much enjoy Geoff after walking in on him and his fiancee when coming home from work early. Heartbroken and out of a home, he decided to come along with Cassandra since he had nowhere else to be (and it didn't hurt that he found Cassandra beautiful).
Now we move on to the other neighbourhoods that aren't technically neighbourhoods.
From Sim State University, it's the 'I'm my own man' douchebag figurehead...
Castor is the cool man on campus that marches to the beat of his own drum and makes all the girls swoon. He enjoys coffee shops, music and a good conversation.
As a Philosophy student, Castor was excited at the opportunity to be Cassandra's official deep thinker. That's the official story of course - really he's just at a loss of what to do in life after graduating. He never wanted to leave college but graduate school doesn't exist in SimNation, so he can't delay the inevitable. Castor saw the chance to join the expedition as a way to beat back the terrors outside world, at least for a little while...
From La Fiesta Tech...
Stella hopes to get a degree in Physics. She has a weakness for cookies.
Sent down to SimNation to study the culture of sims, Stella graduated from LFT but found there was no longer a place for her aboard the fleet. Not one to let misfortune get to her down, she joined Cassandra's pack to experience simmish life to the full!
From the School of Hipster Douchebaggery Academie Le Tour...
Mitch is into innovation, whether it's music, fashion or art. He's a true hipster.
After trying to start a band that nobody's ever heard of but failing due to nobody attending their gigs, Mitch decided to go as underground as possible - live in a place nobody's ever heard of.
We're done for the universities - two more to go! The penultimate, from Downtown...
Shrouded in mystery, nobody quite knows how or why Rainelle joined Cassandra and her crew.
Last and most definitely least, from the dregs of the Sim Bin...
Trent is a Free Spirit. He's never afraid to go out into the world and get what he wants. He is a dedicated father, and loves spending time with little Tina.
While Trent wanted to travel, Trisha wanted to settle. This conflict of interested eventually broke his marriage up, and he figured with nothing left to lose he may as well join Cassandra. If anything, it may prove to be an adventure.
Well, that's all of the settlers. I reckon I'll post this to
buildacity, see where it goes. I've still got my Bluewater stored away for a rainy day, but I want to try a challenge for the moment. I don't know when I'll have the first part out, but knowing me pretty soon. :P
Oh! And this also marks my first time using FRAPS to take pictures rather than the in-game camera. The difference is pretty cool, but I don't know how to automatically resize the images... I know there's a way... ah well, I'll figure it out!
Thank you ever so much for passing by, hope you have a great day - let me know what you think of the settlers!
