Fairytales and Vampires
I got my copy of Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors in the mail today. I had been wanting to read Snow, Glass, Apples, a more sinister retelling of Snow White.
It was dark, disturbing, and I loved it. An instant favorite for me. Oh, and I found it posted here (with the permission of Neil). If you like dark fairy tales, go read it!
I'm currently reading Carmilla, so both combined will have me thinking about vampires for days.
Since I'm on the subject of fairytales retold, I'll rec one of my favorites, The Tiger's Bride by Angela Carter (I don't know if that one's posted with author permission). It's a Beauty and the Beast retelling.
