As always, your writing is vivid and evocative. I love the description of Shunsui's inner world, and the not-too-precise description of his zanpakutou's spirit (any more detail would have killed the mystery.)
Also, I'm starting to love the Ito clan. i love the mix of high formality and rugged informality (the constrast between Rudra's and Indra's responses at the end are perfect). I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I've been enjoying the melding of Hindi and Japanese culture/languages with the Ito.

Yeah... we haven't seen Shunsui's spirit, yet, and I keep skirting that fact. *laughs*
Oh! Good... after Kali, I had to follow suit, in some sense. Incandescens did feel that the first two sons should be named something more traditional... as they are kind of traditionalists to a degree (what with the duel), and I saw her point, so the Ito clan really has become something of a mix.

Yeah. Jyuushiro's making his own kinds of friends, he'll be repaid pretty quickly.
Thank you!! They're getting more... complex, I think, and got pretty heavy after some fluffy. *grins* Trying to balance it out.

Still love the Ito family, and I loved the acceptance at the end of the chapter. I know how that is. You get new guys in the platoon or company and everyone is kinda distant until something happens. Then they welcome you with open arms.
"It was odd not knowing people's names, to be unable to offer help or a word of encouragement. Cursing the hard ground felt utterly inappropriate for the final resting place of a human being. So he worked on in silence.
That line struck hard. Such great imagery.

Wow. Thank you. Yeah, it's the core of Shun's inner world, I think, it bemused me that it was only now that I realized why Shun dreamed of being buried in like chapter 5. *laughs*
I'm glad the Ito family is still holding up. And, yeah, you'd know better than I... I'm very glad that that rang true.
Thanks for giving me the line that struck you hardest, and for this wonderful, thoughtful comment.
