Oh, this is very interesting. I like the tack you've taken with these two, starting them out quasi-antagonistically and not quite letting us see what's going on with Shunsui. It's also interesting to see some familiar names among the instructors.

I look forward to more installments of this.

Yes, I found the only viewpoint I could write the first pieces from was Jyuushiro's... cool that you saw that.

I figured the Four Families plus the now fallen Shiba clan would have been involved in the first forming of the Academy and the roots of the shinigami, they'd have a vested interest in long term security. Lots of extrapolation on the past from scraps and bits in and out of canon. It's fun piecing it all together.

I have to agree. This is rather fascinating. You have several different threads of plot going on at once, and I look forward to seeing how they all interrelate.

I especially like the hint Jyuushiro mentioned about the way things were in the past with the Hollows. It is a nice contrast to the situation in Ichigo's era and shows just how far Soul Society has come. It makes them seem less stagnant and more useful.

*grin* Yes... lots of plot threads that do seed out. Some things I just wrote on a whim that lead to later stuff, too. I decided to keep these two until I had a few of those other plot points under control, and make sure they were consistent before going ahead with it. I'm really amazed and glad you noticed.

Yes... figured I should... devolve things a bit if it was THAT long. Only problem is that I figure there's no Gotei 13, no Divisions, no Captains, yet, other than the kinds of people and officers serving in the militia as it is.

I always kind of thought that there was a Gotei 13 way back then, just a much less organized version. Of course, they might not have divided it into that many divisions or any at all, for that matter. As for captains, who knows? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Maybe they were called something else or didn't have as much political/military power. Did they even have a bankai?

(Sigh) I'm getting myself all worked up about this, and it'll bother me until I can reason it out.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to the next chapter. I eagerly await your explanations for everything.

*grin* Your thoughts are pretty close to mine as to *something* being around with a different structure. I might point out that there was probably a reason Yamamoto-sama separated the military from the political power.

I enjoyed your mentions of the now fallen Shiba family and the hints of other well-known noble families (Lady Kuchiki, for example). It's really amazing how well-thought this is and I enjoy every second of reading it. I'm curious as to what will happen with Shunsui, though, and I can't wait to find out :)
