Nicely done. I loved Shunsui's crack at politeness and his 'enjoy the delicate flowers of femininity that fall upon my sword' line. :) You can certainly see how well thought out this is and I enjoyed it very much. Keep up the great work, and I'm off to read chapter two :)

*grin* I'm so glad those worked for you! :-)

And I'm very glad you're reading this one, too.

Felt that Shunsui's hatred of politeness as a mask for truth was pretty much at the root of who he is.

Thank you!!

I feel the same way concerning Shunsui. He's certainly not a stickler for the rules, at any rate, and formality is only a passing grace knowing him XD

And no, thank you for sharing this :)

You wrote academy Shunsui and Ukitake. And it's going to be long? Well, I'm stalking this one. Good job, I was totally hooked.

Good! :-)

Yes. It will be quite long. Already six chapters in the works, and another two I've got plotted. The boys pulled in a lot of things other than just their swords, things like where they got their sense of justice, how they figured out they really wanted to fight lefty as well as righty, how they figured out what they could do, why they both learned to hide so much under reputations and appearances, etc.

But they started out so *different*, from such different circumstances... I couldn't seem to get them to agree to anything to start. *laughter*

*falls over giggling*

OOOoooo... I *like* that description. That is sooo appropriate to Jyuushiro thinking he was going to be fighting dirty. *laughter*

Hmmm this is a great start! Kyouraku is so... Well... Kyouraku-like. He's joking and all fun and happy-go-lucky until he realizes that 'oh shit, I've gone too far' and than he shows that there's more to him than that but really, he's already fucked up everything so much that people don't really take notice that he's more than that happy-go-lucky bastard that he pretends to be.
On the other hand, he's obviously a lot (LOT!) younger and less balanced than the Kyouraku we know.

Ukitake is, obviously, also well written but really, since it's you that's just about a given!

And yes, I've finally started reading this. Kinda late, eh?

Mmm... I'm very glad that Kyouraku came across in all those ways. *grins* I love that you gave me all these things, and yeah, they're very, very much younger than they are now. And I tried to write them that way.

I'm *really* glad that that is so obvious. *dances* Yay! I'm glad that you like my young Ukitake as well.

Woohoo!! I'm *so* glad you're reading it! I don't care if you're "late" or not... just really, really happy that you are reading it and have liked it. Thank you.
