Powerful Harry

(For fics where he's politically powerful, check out lothy's list Fics where Harry is royalty or nobilityHalf the superpower!Harry stories have Dumbledore as mentor, the other half seem to have him as manipulative bastard - so I'll use that as primary category

I'll get you some recs in a bit. Firstly though, you need to define dark, because whereas I would say it means evil, some people use it to mean any fics where Harry isn't 100% fluffy and light...

By Dark I mostly mean "evil", "on the side of Voldemort". Will clear that up - and probably add a fourth category "grey". - As you can see, I just started this and to some extent it's still a "rough draft", containing nearly exclusively stories I've read and in most cases liked.

Super!Harry is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me--I've loved them, ever since I first read This Means War!, even if I usually prefer more... Well, I was going to say naturalistic fics, but we're talking fantasy here, so... canonical?

One writer of very fluffy Super!Harry/Mistress of the Universe!Ginny fics is SSHenry. Her page on SIYE is here. I recommend Towards Tomorrow and Today the Tempest--fun, fluffy, pre-HBP adventure stuff. But LONG...

Kokopelli, yes. (He is on Jeconais' website after all. ;) - There should be a link or two to some of his fics on my lists - though not many of his fics seem to fit.)

Finished the two "main" parts of the fic (Towards Tomorrow and Today the Tempest). I quite liked the first part but not the second. With the Tuachna de Dana and whatnot involved it smacks a bit of crossover to me. Also Voldemort is evil enough on his own, he doesn't need to wake an ancient evil - nor can I ever see him do something like this. He wants power and would never be willing to share power with an ancient evil!

Lol, we really need to coordinate our themed lists, it seems. I have a list of lists I might possibly make. The one you are intending to make next, about Hogwarts, actually was a topic on that list.

Of course I've read AYLNO! Great fic. Funnily enough not one I primarily think of with powerful Harry. Thanks for reminding me.

I was thinking about Katling's fics already. But it's always hard to decide which ones to include in a category. Haven't read those two - though I have looked at the first chapter or two and then decided they were too far from canon for me.
I'm not sure if she actually has manip!D, though. I originally had one of hers, Daemon Sidhe, in the last category for my manip!D list but finally decided that it didn't really fit. Harry doesn't fully trust D after OotP but that is mended as soon as they get back to Hogwarts actually.

The one I'm currently thinking about including is "Amulet of Time". I can't decide if Harry in this fic is that outstandingly powerful or not. lol

Well, what are your themed list ideas? ;) I haven't actually written any down, but every so often I think of a possible one. E.g. I wouldn't mind doing one of recovery fics where Harry is abused, raped etc - basically hurt/comfort I suppose. I also think there should be new Severitus & Sevitus list; the only one I know of is completed stories only. They're the 2 ideas I can think of off the top of my head but I know I've had others.

I'm pretty sure I saw some of Katling's fics were manipulative D and thus decided not to read them. I'm not sure which, though.

As it's not the theme I like, I don't remember many fics, and some I remember (AYLNO) are here already.

HP/SS; HP/DM; HP/SS/LM; NC-17. Summary: "Surprises are foolish things. The pleasure is not enhanced, and the inconvenience is often considerable." Story warning are at the bottom of the fic.

I don't remember if there's Dumbledore in this fic at all, but Harry is a sort of shadow ruler of the wizarding Britain. I wouldn't call him quite dark, but some might.

I think you might pick up some fics for your Dark!Harry part from the list where he's a dark lord

Oh! And Harry is super-mega powerful at the end of Cybele's If You Are Prepared.
Harry's good, Dumbledore is good, their relationship is good, Harry fights V, and his super powers have actually come from Dumbledore.

I've read neither of them, so I didn't know that Harry was powerful in them.
I'll gladly add them if you can tell me what side Harry is on and how his relationship with Dumbledore is - so I can put it into the right category. :)
