Snape is evil and nasty

Aug 30, 2006 11:10

The idea for this list stems from a discussion with serpentclara who claimed that there are so many fics where Snape gets redeemed but a lot less with canon!Snape or evil!Snape. So I decided to compile a list of stories with the latter ( Read more... )

themed list, character list

On his own side and pretty nasty:

In Blood Only, by E.M. Snape (in case FFnet acts up, the fic is also archived at Tauri, but you'll have to register to read it there)
Gen (some background Harry/Tonks), Severitus fic, R, novel-length. Snape is Harry's father. No one is happy to hear it. [R due to colorful language, dark themes, and nongraphic violence.]

Fall Into Charybdis, by nimori
SS/HP, NC-17, 17 000 words. Warning: Contains Spoilers. Summary: A tale of the further woes of the Boy Who Lived -- who, having escaped the monster Scylla, has fallen into Charybdis (Charybdis being he of the hooked nose and greasy hair). Which is all a terribly pretentious way of saying out of the frying pan, into the fire ( ... )

The last one isn't Harry in Voldemort's side, is it?

Thanks in any case. :)

Oh yes, he is. Kind of, has to be, since V is in his head.

Hmm, then I don't think the last one fits. But thanks for the other two in any case.

I never thought you would do it. Seriously, I told you I don't read much Snape-centric fic - I dislike the character. I simply thought it might be an interesting theme for other people.

I will not take stories where Snape is just like in canon, nasty to Harry and ambiguous in his true alliances.

This is where I have to disagree with you. I firmly believe that in HBP, there is no more doubt about his true allegiances, if indeed there ever was.

OK, I'm going to bed now before I manage to quote more formal, political expressions that sound pretentious without meaning much. (wide eyes) My mind doesn't quite feel right since I've had my first PE class in two years ... why else would I be mocking my own political allegiances now?

*shrugs* Pretty much everything we see in the books is coloured through Harry's perceptions. And Dumbledore till the very end kept assuring Harry that he fully trusted Snape.
After hearing of Gandalf's fall in the Mines of Moria Galadriel (in the films) said "We do not yet know his full purpose." I think the same applies to Dumbledore (and Snape).
I still hold the hope that Snape was on the side of Light.

But well, I guess we have to agree to disagree here. ;)

If you have finished reading HBP (if you haven’t then a) this will ruin the story for you and b) you won’t understand it anyway.

Harry Potter and the Final Straw

Summary:

A 6th year fic of sorts. Harry takes a look at his life and doesn't like what he sees, so he decides to declare his independance of Dumbledore and the Order of the Phoenix and fight the war on his own terms.

In this story, snape kills Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and Remus Lupin and will be executed by Harry.

Thanks. I actually tried reading this story several times - but back then I was so fed up with the typical beginning of a Post-OotP Sixth Year story, I just couldn't get through the first couple of chapters... (And now I don't want to read those chapters again!)
