Theories concerning the Animagus-transformation

While collecting the Animagus-stories for my list, I've read all kinds of stories with very diverse ideas of how to become an Animagus. Most of the stories don't fit my personal idea of the Animagus-transformation

I would just like to say that I completely agree, I myself have written an Animagus Story and found it incredibly hard to do. I managed to make it canon, and to reduce my painstaking research on the subject reduced the description of the process, short of writing to JK Rowling herself and asking about it, this was the easiest option
