I’m putting off packing and doing other productive things, so here it is.
1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
Experienced an earthquake! I woke up to my bed shaking, ever so slightly, then I noticed my whole house was shaking! I was freaking out for a few seconds, wondering what was going on, and then it was over. Didn’t find out until the following afternoon that it was an actual earthquake! I also learned how to knit!!
2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t generally make any, and I don’t plan to this year.

My old college friend, Lisa, had a baby girl named Stephanie. I met her a few days ago, and she’s so cute!
4. Did anyone close to you die?

Getting into art school and learning how to knit.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
I’m not sure. I don’t really listen to a lot of “modern” music. Man, I sound old.

ii. thinner or fatter? About the same
iii. richer or poorer? Same
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Knitting
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Oh, it was crazy. I had to work on Christmas Eve, until 8 p.m. (well, I got out at 7). I then went back to my house to throw some things in my car, then drove to my sister’s house in Bolingbrook. Saw some of my sister’s boyfriend’s family and ate some good food. Stayed up until about 4 a.m. working on finishing my Christmas skirt. Woke up around 9 a.m. and opened presents and ate breakfast with my family. Then I finished my skirt!! I’m pretty happy with how it came out. Went from my sister’s to my Dad’s in Glendale Heights. Opened presents, drank some good wine, then it was off to my Gramma’s in Glenview. Saw a bunch of my extended family, including my relatives from Colorado, which is always great. Had a great Polish Christmas dinner, opened presents and won the trivia challenge! Then I drove back to my Mom’s house in Hoffman Estates to sleep, then it was back to Bloomington on Friday to work at 2 p.m. Stressful, but overall a good holiday.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
No.
23. How many one-night stands?

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Not to my recollection.

I feel really dumb, but I don’t really remember. I would look on my bookshelf, but it’s already packed.

Dark Knight. Amazing film.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

My family and friends back home. One of the reasons I’m glad I’m moving back.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Erica and James Wagoner, my new friends in B-N. They’re a super-awesome couple, and I love hanging out with them. I will miss them terribly.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
Ignoring bills doesn’t make them go away. You’d think I would have learned that by now.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Oh, brother, I will sing my song,
It’s like I’ve known these words all along.
I wish I had remembered them sooner,
But I know it’s a little better late than never
