I've been in a good mood recently, for no particular reason.
Anyway, did you see the U.S. Open? That Tiger Woods sure is something. There's really nothing to say on the matter except that he is the best. A great golfer isn't defined by skill alone. If that was the case, there would be dozens of people worthy of being in the same league as Tiger Woods. But there's something more. Some call it heart, some call it determination. Mental toughness. Strength of will. That never-say-die attitude. Whatever. To me, all those descriptions cheapen its meaning. Giving words to it makes it seem attainable, gives us hope that we might understand, maybe even grasp it ourselves one day.
But I say, nay. Nay! There are no words that can hold it, no words that can shape it. Simply, it is what it is.
I am what I am, and that's all that I am. I don't know why, but that makes me feel good. Maybe because I actually believe that, or maybe cause it sounds cool. Whether I'm just a plain, ol' mortal man or an unfathomable machine like Tiger Woods, I'm happy to live my life. That fact alone makes me happier than I deserve to be.
Now it is time to make the sleep.
