Hiroshi's such a good friend - more of one than canon ever bothers to give him credit for, I think. But you just did, and my heart went all melty. ♥ For him, and for Shuuichi. and for poor Fujisaki for putting up with all this heartbreak all over the place. Bad Luck's probably turning the poor kid asexual out of sheer terror.

Never stop writing the sad and the imperfect loves, okay? Because you do it so well and it's such a refreshing break from all the happy shiny rainbows and unicorns crap.

...pretty sure I've said that way too many times already but whatever, it deserves saying again! :'D

honestly, iirc, i... never really liked how the series just seemed to kind of totally handwave hiroshi's admitted crush on shu? like, once he got together with ayaka (...was that her name? it's been a while), it was pretty much never brought up again. and i don't even dislike ayaka (i... actually kinda liked her, ngl), but my ~headcanon for them was always more or less that after a year or two they'd have a fairly friendly break-up on mutual agreement that it Just Wasn't Working Out, or something. i just don't see them, idk. also gosh yes suguru, the poor kid. i seem to remember him doing more baffled watching of relationship antics than actual keyboard playing, ngl.

haha, i'm sure you have said that a few times before, but i'm certainly not complaining :3 ♡

Baffled watching of relationship antics mixed with the occasional "WHY ISN'T ANYONE ELSE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY SHINDOU-SAN WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ASDFGHJKL;" - I remember the anime more vividly than the manga but I can only recall one scene that actually focused on Suguru playing instead of freaking out about something. I think I would still actually care about Gravi if there had been more music and less shitty relationships buuuut... nope.

...'kay done fangirl!ranting about the only character I actually gave a shit about now. (okay, I liked Hiroshi too.

Your him and Ayaka headcanon is A++ by the way. :Db )

pretty much, yeah. and... ngl, i think i would really have cared about gravitation a lot more if, well, you know.

yuki just fucked off.

SERIOUSLY he is the absolute worst forever. iirc he straight-up raped shuichi (at the very least, consent was dubious as fuck) at least once, and it was just kind of... immediately handwaved and forgotten about. SERIOUSLY, IF THE ENTIRE THING WAS JUST HIROSHI AND SHUICHI BEING HAPPY AND CUTE AND GENERALLY PERFECT FOR ONE ANOTHER (oh gosh, why am i becoming a total fanboy for these guys again :x what have you done to me, gwen), THEN I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE LOVED IT. but nope yaoi rule apparently dictates that all relationships need to be split cleanly into semes and ukes and that all semes have to be assholes and all ukes have to be, well, ukes, and...

seriously :\

oh thank you so much for saying that. Seriously. Thank you.

(Sidetracking for a minute - I somehow managed to get my mom into Gravitation back when I was like twelve and didn't realize why it was so fucked up? Except that she still likes it and occasionally nags me to watch it with her and, um, how do you tell your mom that you don't want to watch things that make you profoundly uncomfortable.)

But yeah, fucking Yuki. Just. ew. (I have this feeling that if he were a real author his novels would be so full of misogynistic bullshit and handwaved dubcon in the name of ~*~true love~*~ that I would scream.)

If Gravitation were just all Bad Luck shenanigans all the time... Alex, Alex, I want to write that now, wouldn't it be cute? Shuuichi and Hiroshi the perfect couple and Suguru just kind of averting his eyes and going "could you please stop devouring each other for half an hour we're supposed to be recording!" and...

(oh gosh, that's... really awkward :x i actually feel pretty lucky now that, back when i was going through my slight YAOI IS KAWAII DESU weeaboo phase, my parents just kind of regarded all my manga and anime talk with general baffled "just nod and smile while pretending to listen" avoidance...)

yeah, i definitely agree; he just strikes me as being a totally awful person in pretty much all aspects. ngl, the thing about gravitation that pissed me off the absolute most was that... no-one ever really seemed to give a shit that shuichi was very clearly being hurt by yuki on a near-constant basis? even if it wasn't necessarily physical and he wasn't walking around carrying bruises or scars or whatever that could've be visible to anyone, you'd really expect someone close to him to pick up on how miserable he was so often because of the way yuki treated him :\ it wasn't as though either of them were hiding it. yuki was an obvious asshole and shuichi was obviously not happy with him a lot of the time. BUT NOPE that's apparently ~all just part ( ... )
