The past two months came and went. There were some highlights such as our week-long induction in Kuala Lumpur last September. Got to meet a lot of the other IG's from as far-away as Ghana and Botswana! Anyway, it was great getting to interact with these people and know how life is like from their end. Went to Singapore with the four other Philippine folks after the induction. We stayed at YMCA, which had cheap nightly rates. Got to meet up with some IG's in Clarke Quay who flew into the country for their departmental training. I also took that chance to meet up with Lynn. For a moment, I didn't think she'd show up given where we left off before. I tried to get it back but our meeting ended ambiguously. It's now almost November, and I am still hoping.

After coming back to Manila, I was given more intense roles in the department where I am permanently assigned. Honestly, I never thought that I'd end up in Marketing. It's just not my cup of tea. I specifically applied in banks because of this reason but it just never comes out the way you want it. I can definitely do something to correct it. Problem is that it would need to take a bit more time and I am not the most patient person in the world. I must wait, even if it means waiting for several more months.

A few weeks ago, I ran in a 5km mini-marathon of the bank. The route stretched from our building in Ayala Avenue near corner Buendia up to Shangri-la, then back again to our building then to Greenbelt then back again. 5km is quite short for professional athletes but it's the longest I've ever ran in my entire life.

Last week I got to try out airsoft courtesy of Rej. It's an underground thing but attracts a lot of people, even kids. The gun, gear, not to mention the abandoned warehouse setting add to the excitement. It's great fun though I still have a long way to go before I can equal the more advanced people.

This week has been a departure from my normal work routine. I've been in a week-long training on bonds, derivatives, structured finance and funds. It's interesting. Norman, our trainer from Singapore, definitely knows his thing. It's just a shame that my work doesn't deal with any of those products.

The next week will be filled with holidays. Am quite excited to fly to Taipei. I consider it my third home (after Metro Manila and San Francisco) although I haven't been there in 8 years. Hopefully, I'll be able to find the time to revisit the places where I stayed before.
