Hey,
i ahve been watchign all this unfold on network television here. how far away from California (the fire area) are you?

its ahrd for me to fathom destruction in that amont... in australia we are so sheltered from disasters i dont think our country could cope even with something one eightth the size of the shit that is going down there :(

i hope you are well!

*hugs*

Hey thanks! We're like 9 to 15 minutes away from the fires, like my previous post stated, my mom had to be escorted off the 5 freeway by police and prove she lived in Mission Hills, cause the fires changed direction and came at us.. I think i heard though that Stevenson's Ranch is under control now, but i'm not sure. I live next door to a fire station (thankfully lol) and you can hear them dispatching men to the fires periodically. (They don't have enough man power so they are borrowing firemen). I will post pix soon of what the fire did to the sun a few days ago... (the smoke made the sun red)

I'll be okay and hopefully all things will be well.. they usually evacuate before the fire hits your area full force.. I think my area will end up fine. I just hope everybody else gets themselves, and their animals to safety, and has insurance.

Holy hell.
i acnt beleive you are not completely freaking out. livejournal is probably the last place i would be hanging around if things were that close. *worries*
you must LOVE living nextdoor to a firestation :P i'm sure a lot of your freidns would ahve been hit by the fire which is unfortunate.

i'm imagining your area is a little rural? its not like suburbia is it?

*hugs*

stay well!

Actually the mistake ppl make when they think of Los Angeles is they think of Downtown L.A, most of L.a is rural cluster fucks of houses front yards, and little white picket fences. While we are right next to business structures, fast food places, and all that, we're still kind of suburbia. Suburban houses are what are mostly being burned up in the flames ( ... )

That was weird having the fires so close this time. The Simi Fire that went to stevenson ranch was coming so close, we almost packed stuff "just in case." lol but ended up not cause they got better control. That was SO weird that day the sun was red like that, and the smoke completely covered the bottom of it!! Plus the air smells really weird even still from all the smoke and stuff. I hate the ass that started the ones that were man-made.
