So, I actually have been really inspired in WRITE lately... awesome for me, bad for my academics. Whatever, I'll come out of it fine.
I've cranked out four pages of planning so far, which is more than I've written in years it feels like. But as I'm fleshing out the plot, I'm trying to write the ending and I realize that part of what I'm planning seems a bit too unrealistic even for slice-of-life fiction. Right now, without giving too much away, I have two choices. Do I:
a) write what I want to happen - namely, letting a sixteen-year-old girl drive from West Virginia to Texas by herself (which though kind of resonant in terms of plot seems is, really, very unrealistic); or
b) write what's probably more sensible and realistic - have the girl put on a plane and flown home instead of driving?
