I have a problem with the amount of "connection" I have with the rest of the world thanks to silly things like Facebook and Twitter. On the one hand, yes, it IS useful to know what your friends are doing sometimes. And if something happens to them that's awesome or hilarious, it's cool to know that, too.
On the whole, I don't have a problem with technology. Blogs are a great idea, for me (hence, y'know, this). I feel like you get more extended discourse on them. And of course, if you don't want to read them... just don't type in the address. I feel like that luxury has been taken out of facebook for me, because - silly me - I have friends on there that shouldn't be on there, for a variety of reasons.
A) We had like, one class together, or something equally marginal, and talked maybe twice, and then they found me on facebook and added me, and I didn't want to look petty and say no.
B) We used to be friends, but we're not really anymore, and there's really no likelihood of that changing.
C) He tried to put the moves on me and told me to get drunker so that I'd let him do it isn't really someone I want to keep in touch with.
Yeah, I'm a bitch. Or maybe I'm immature. Whatever reason, I cleared off some things that had been bugging me on my facebook list today. Who cares? Let's fight about it.
