I have a friend in Austin... she says it's like an oasis of cool people in a desert of cowboys and crazy rednecks. The least Texas-y place possible while still being in Texas.

Houston, however, is a cesspool. My mom lived down there for a while... she said until she Texas plates to replace her New York one, people on the highway would yell "YANKEE!" at her.

I might just live out there for the summer. It would be nice to get away for a while.
