Mother's Day, Movie Collection, Wedding

Mother's Day was this past Sunday. I got my mom a thing from her wishlist (How to Train Your Dragon 1 & 2) and wrote this for her:
"Mother" is a common title, and yet, deserves all given affection.

She is not a "queen," or "priestess," but only your own mother. Your only one.

A mother uses all her knowledge, capabilities, and emotion to raise her child.

A mother goes beyond herself to research and broaden her ways.

A mother should question her ways.

A mother sacrifices.

A mother expects no thanks (and may never receive any).

A mother's love is what the child will compare all other loves to.

A mother knows. She doesn't show that she knows.

A mother doesn't know. She doesn't show that she doesn't know.

A mother consoles. And nurtures. And gives.

A mother is not a saint, or perfect, or always cheerful.

A mother is a human, like any other human.

But a mother's love. A mother's love!
That love is commonly rare.
I know it's not amazing but I meant it.

I got an app for my phone called MyMovies Pro which catologues all your movies. You scan the barcode with your camera and it adds it. It's amazing. I have 637 barcodes, which has to be like 700 individual movies or something. And TV series. 233 of those are zombie flicks. It's highly customizable too. You can export the list, like a-so:

That image to the left is the bulk of my zombie movies. And this is the best shelf!


It's all the Romero zombie movies and their offshoots. You can see I have a lot of Day of the Dead movies. It's my favorite zombie flick and probably one of my all-time favorite movies. I'm trying to collect all versions of it, within reason. Just for the "shelf porn."

So I told my parents about this sweet little app and now my mom bought it, too ($7.99). Neither of us hardly ever purchase apps but this thing is great. I looked at a few different ones before settling on this one. I have officially run out of space to display movies. Now there's just various stacks around my room wherever I can find the space.

I took a nap while writing this entry earlier. I've been doing that recently when I don't have to work the next day, taking a nap sometime after work and then staying up very late. I do that purposely so I can get high outside after my parents have gone to bed. It's just weed, and they might not even care, but I don't want them to think any less of me than they already do. I have this little one-hitter and I'll take a few hits off it then go back in. I can't wait to move out. The guilt and shame I feel of having to hide things like just smoking a little weed sometimes, takes its toll on me.

My very good friend Paul is getting married in June. He really, REALLY loves Two-Face. And Eli (his fiance) REALLY loves Deadpool. Their wedding invitation is awesome:

Although I'm not one of the wedding party, I'm still joining them this Saturday to do stuff. Maybe it's a bachelor's party-type thing? We're gonna have lunch, get shirts, watch Deadpool 2, drink, eat, and drink. And man do those guys know their way around a bar. Eli made Harvey Wallbangers one time and even knew why they were called that! They were fucking delicious. But they're not like pretentious or snobby or anything about it. I really couldn't be happier for Paul. That guy really deserves it. I love that man. He was a groomsman at my own wedding, and got us my personal favorite gift from that ceremony (sorry about the reflection):


So I feel self-imposed pressure to get them something awesome. I did get them this that I'm gonna give them on Saturday (click on the pic if you wanna know what it is; this post is getting long):


I got one for myself too. Eli is a huge Rollins fan (as am I!!) and they're both really into comics and it's gay. And funny. I'm still gonna get them something for their actual wedding though.
