There is no economy in which this makes sense.

I am MAJORLY crushing on this watch:

It is a running watch that has GPS, maps and course features, advanced run tracking, a touch-sensitive bezel, an optional heart rate monitor...everything. It's the newest, most state-of-the art piece of running watchery available at the moment, and it's about the size of a regular wristwatch. (Most other GPS watches are the size of small computers)

The problem: it costs $300. And an extra $50 for the heart rate monitor, which everyone tells me I should be getting anyway. Sure, I've got that $600 economic stimulus check, but that's going towards wii fit, rock band for wii, and moving-to-NYC costs.

The solution: I have been obsessed with a text messaging service called ChaCha that Eric introduced me to a few months back. ChaCha is a free question-answering service. You text a question (ANY question) to 242-242, and someone at ChaCha looks it up for you and texts you back. You can ask anything:

* Where is the nearest Tony Roma's?
* How much does gas cost in Miami?
* Why is Jessica Simpson so dumb?

And you will get an answer from a real person in minutes. Try it right now! It's totally free. Each text message has a link at the end for more info, and the ChaCha website is ad supported (which is how they make money). They don't spam your phone.

Anyway, I love ChaCha, and decided to become one of the people who answers questions. It's pretty easy...a few tests are involved, but once you're done you can sign on to the ChaCha system whenever you have a few spare minutes. You only earn twenty cents per question (it's worked out to about $5 per hour for me), but the main appeal is that I can do it while I'm watching TV, or while I'm bored at work.

It sort of feels like free money because I just do it when I feel like it. You also get lots of crazy random questions like, "Should I have sex with my boyfriend?" "Should I have an orgy with these four girls?" "Why are tentacles so popular in hentai?" That last one caused me to accidentally look at some really weird japanese porno pictures.

My ChaCha income has been crawling up, but today I reached the $50 milestone. That's my heart rate monitor!! Only seven times more of this to go until my watch is paid for...*
