Seattle has reminded me of the fact that getting lost is the very best way to find something.
I've been getting lost all the hell over this town and have been so happy about it.
I'll get distracted by some lake and want to drive around it and look at it
so I'll drive
and drive and drive.
And forget where I started and get confused.
And spend a half hour trying to find my way home
and I'll finally get there and have learned so much more
and saw so many beautiful things along the way.
I've been enjoying my time here thus far.
I still haven't woken up to the fact that I live here now.
It's really hard to not spend money, but I've been doing a good job at it, I think.
I've been walking to parks with new friends accompanied by a flask of scotch.
I've played Bocce ball in a random field with people I don't know.
There have been 69 cent taco nights and 3 dollar bloody mary nights.
I've been walking and been picked up in friends' cars that pass me
(to take me out for coffee).
And today, I will plant daisies!
Things here are wonderful, but a little too slow moving for me.
I start a part-time job tomorrow, but I'm not sure how long it'll last.
I can't wait to have a full time job again.
And to go back to school.
And for my special boy to come visit me.
