Today a complete stranger asked me to marry him.

I was carrying some stuff up to my dorm, trying to make as few trips as possible, and therefore piling a ridiculous amount in my arms, to the point that I was dropping things left and right. As I got to the third set of doors I dropped my copy of Ender's Game. The boy behind me picked it up.
"We play by there rules long enough-" he quoted.
"-and it becomes our game." I finished.
"Valentine Wiggin." he said, handing it to me, "This book changed my life."
"Mine too - it's one of my favorites." I replied, "Thank you." I was so pleasantly surprised by this random stranger who knew Ender's Game well enough to quote it and love it - It felt like such a movie moment. But it didn't stop there. Another book fell to the floor, taking with it my alarm clock.
"Can I help you with some of that?" He grabbed the things on the floor along with the lamp barely balancing on my bathroom cart and tucked it under his arm, before I could even object, and followed me up the elevator to my room on the third floor. We chatted mindlessly about our majors, home towns and Oklahoma, and I situated my stuff around my new living room. Finally I sat down beside him on the couch. And then he looked right at me and said,
"You know, you're just the type of girl I'd like to marry. Will you marry me?"
I was so caught off guard. I stared at him, attempting to find a suitable following remark. And then I just laughed.
"I'm Zoe." I said, sticking out my hand. At some point we had missed that whole name-trade part. He smiled back.
"I'm Christopher." he replied, shaking my hand finally. "I live 3 doors down, I'll let you think about that." We laughed and I saw him to the door.

It was such an odd occurrence. I almost feel like my response didn't do the moment justice. I should have dramatically said yes, after making it clear with my facial expressions that I was making a life changing decision, and then grabbed him and kissed him on the terrace and moved to France, or something equally intense. Haha. If only my life was a movie! But I do sortof love that strange 20 year old Ender's Game loving Music Major that lives down the hall. Perhaps I should marry him! ;P

But anyways, I think I'm going to like Texas State.

I LOVE my dorm. I have my very own room, and three other dorm mates. We all share a kitchenette, 4 sinks/vanities, 2 bathrooms, and a fully furnished living room. It's so wonderful and beautiful. I haven't gotten to meet the other girls yet, but they will move back in tomorrow. It's an upperclassmen dorm, so they will most likely be older than me, but I'm excited to meet them. It will be hard to top BeccaBear, but I'm sure they'll be just fine.

In other news, I haven't seen my Austin loves in a very long while. Please be in my life before college consumes my soul. I love you!
