You might not believe this, but Erik and I got our computers hooked up to the interweb yesterday for the first time in close to 3 years!!!! I'm pretty excited to be able to have answers to almost any question I have in this little box, right away! No more going to the library and having a reservation computer tell me I have a 90 minute wait...oooooh I hated that. Yay for being able to be better connected with old friends who choose to send me messages on facebook, becauuuuuuse it would usually take me 3 to 4 weeks to even know they sent it. I'm pretty sure our internet absence frustrated some people but ohhhh well....we do have phones for a reason.

Work has been pretty good lately, in terms of enjoying myself....in terms of business.....not so great! We had the oddest Christmas season ever...sometimes so slow we were just nervously looking at each other thinkin "this...is baaad.." and when we did get busy it was just busy with a lot of little things. But living in a county with the unemployment rate about to reach (if it hasn't already) 13%, you can't exactly expect somebody to be buying big diamonds if they don't have a source of income. Its scary, Erik's job has been AWFUL slow too......this is his 3rd week without any work. Good thing I'm on salary...my company just needs to never ever ever close our store. We can make it on my income for awhile if we have to, but it still stresses me out. But HEY it gives Erik lots and lots of time to be super manly and handy and work on our house!!!!!!! Plus, Butters loves to have him home with him during the day.

So speaking of our house...its quite wonderful!!!! We already have both bedrooms painted, the bathroom redone, and office painted (and erik installed new baseboards and beautiful crown molding!). We are currently working on the front foyer for fun, even though it isn't really a room with a purpose. The front door doesn't get used at all. But we're going to make it pretty, we stripped 4 layers of wallpaper, and discovered that there is solid oak under the current floor! (So someday we will redo that!) I'm the most excited though, to tear down a current (not so real) wall, and rebuild it as a bookshelf wall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who would not love that? Features like that (and laundry shoots(for fun), and porches) are selling points for me, so maybe someday when we sell, it'll work its magic.

My puppy is taking a nap next to me on the floor....seriously I was worried the day would never come that the dang dog could be CALM enough to do that!!!! He's such a sweetheart..I love my dog. My old dog, Leah, at my dad's house, had to be put down a couple of months ago, which was really hard for me. My first dog! I cried myself to sleep when I was a kid because I wanted a dog so bad! There will NEVER be a sweeter dog than Leah. She was just so GOOD and I never realized it until.....I got Butters. hehehehe...my cute little bad dog.

Soooo I would post pictures...but I totally don't want to take the time to do so....so if you really want to see some I recommend just going to my myspace or facebook page. And if you don't know how to find those, just ask me.

Yesterday was the inauguration day of Pres Obama!!!! Of course it was a Tuesday which is my usual open to close shift, so all I got to see was on my lunch break. Definitely got a little teary eyed...in no way do I think our country will be instantly saved from this economic disaster, or that the war will end tomorrow but at least now my country is in the hands of somebody that I respect and trust. Ohhhhh good riddance mr bush, go back to texas.

Ok, so before I go I have a question...Does anybody still read this? At all? Ever? Anybody?

Love, Michelllllllle

my bday is in 4 months!
